Třetí svazek ediční řady Korespondence T. G. Masaryka přináší výpověď o pracovním i osobním vztahu Tomáše G. Masaryka (1850–1937) a Karla Kramáře (1860–1937), kteří ve své době mimořádným způsobem ovlivňovali naše národní a státní zájmy, domácí i zahraniční politiku a veřejné dění. Publikace obsahuje úvodní studii Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk a Karel Kramář: k problematice jejich vztahu od autorské dvojice Martin Kučera – Josef Tomeš. Nejobjemnější část knihy představuje edice souboru korespondence, který tvoří 284 dokumentů. Prvním je Masarykův dopis Kramářovi z 12. ledna 1889, posledním dopis Kramáře Masarykovi z 10. prosince 1936. Masaryk je autorem 117 dokumentů a Kramář 167 dokumentů shromážděné korespondence. Přílohu, která doplňuje vzájemnou korespondenci Masaryka a Kramáře, tvoří 16 dokumentů vzniklých ze styku obou mužů s partnerovými rodinnými příslušníky. Dokumenty jsou v edici řazeny chronologicky. Kniha zahrnuje též ediční úvod, seznam editovaných dokumentů, osobní rejstřík a obrazovou přílohu. Publikaci připravili Jan Bílek, Helena Kokešová, Vlasta Quagliatová a Lucie Swierczeková. Práce vznikla jako součást projektu Grantové agentury České republiky T. G. Masaryk a realisté a s ním souvisejícího projektu Grantové agentury Univerzity Karlovy T. G. Masaryk a K. Kramář ve světle vzájemné korespondence, které byly řešeny v letech 2003–2005. Kniha je základním pramenem pro potřebné interpretace osobních i politických kontaktů mezi T. G. Masarykem a Karlem Kramářem jakožto dvěma klíčovými a charismatickými postavami naší novodobé historie.

VEĽKÝ CÁR SIBÍRSKY Tak nazvali posmešne v roku 1919 Bohdana Pavlů, československého splnomocnenca a diplomatického zástupcu v Rusku, legionári, ktorí by už najradšej práskli do bot a čím skôr sa vrátili do vlasti, pomohli ju vydobyť od neprajných susedov, vystavať podľa vlastných predstáv a pokojne v nej žiť i so svojím potomstvom. Veľkolepá prezývka a iste lákavý názov pre biografiu, ktorá by chcela vrátiť portrétovanú osobu do historickej pamäti Slovenska i Českých zemí. Zodpovedá však len krátkemu časovému úseku v živote Bohdana Pavlů, ktorý bol omnoho bohatší a rozmanitejší. Čitateľovi ponúkam životopis v troch častiach Mladosť, Mužnosť a Múdrosť. Každá z nich je spätá s iným historickým obdobím: roky mladosti a vzdelávania s Rakúsko-Uhorskom, s Moravou, Slovenskom i Prahou, hrdinské roky mladého muža s prvou svetovou vojnou a československým odbojom v Rusku, vrchol kariéry s diplomatickými službami, keď pôsobil ako vyslanec prvej Československej republiky najprv v Bulharsku, potom v Dánsku, v rokoch 1934 1937 v Sovietskom zväze, a napokon až do predčasnej smrti v máji 1938 ako zástupca československého ministra zahraničných vecí v Prahe. Študoval právo, miloval literatúru a fascinovala ho politika. Ako literárny kritik a jeden zo zakladateľov literárneho časopisu Prúdy je na Slovensku pomerne známy. Mojím cieľom bolo predstaviť ho ako prvotriedneho novinára a diplomata. A tiež vyjadriť súhlas s výrokom jeho spolubojovníka z Ruska Ivana Markoviča: Ak by sme hodnotili poradie vedúcich osobností prvého československého zahraničného odboja podľa ich významu, po trojhviezdí Masaryk, Štefánik a Beneš nasleduje Bohdan Pavlů.

JUDr. Milan Hodža (* 1878, Sučany, Rakúsko-Uhorsko – † 1944, Clearwater, USA), slovenský politik, štátnik a publicista. Bol úradujúci prezident Česko-slovenskej republiky, jedenásty, prvý slovenský, predseda vlády Česko-Slovenska a viackrát minister. Napriek tomu, že v slovenskej, ale aj v česko-slovenskej politike, bol ojedinelým zjavom, veľa sa o ňom nevie, nepublikuje. Sám bol zapálený novinár a žurnalistike sa venoval už od svojich dvadsiatych rokov, o sebe toho veľa nenapísal. Zrejme však hlavná príčina tkvie v tom, že žiadnemu režimu celkom nevyhovoval. Pre ľudákov bol počas slovenského štátu čechoslovakista. Pre komunistov po roku 1948 bol predstaviteľ buržoázie a jeden z vinníkov Mníchovskej dohody. Po vzniku Slovenskej republiky v roku 1993 sa pri jeho mene spomínali mnohé „smrteľné“ politické hriechy, ale nakoniec ho vzali na milosť. No, ako sa hovorí v jednej anekdote, zlý dojem, aj po vysvetlení situácie, zostal. Kniha približuje čitateľovi život a politické pôsobenie Milana Hodžu v novodobých slovenských dejinách.
