This timely book, in the form of an encyclopedia, considers the totality of issues surrounding the Anthropocene, that geologic era characterized by humanity's vast impact on the Earth. Connectedness acknowledges the incomplete nature of its project seeing as how this riotous era is not yet finished. With contributions by Greta Thunberg, Bill McKibben, Alice Waters, Tomás Saraceno, Björk and many others, this publication consists of approximately 100 entries, arranged alphabetically, each reflecting on questions, phenomena, terms, possibilities and theories associated with the Anthropocene. Examples of entries include Air, Borders and Coexistence, as well as more complex subjects such as Donna Haraway on the Chthulucene or Anders Blok on Climate Risk Communities. Notre-Dame - The Soul of France

Encina House by Aranguren & Gallegos, an elegant, sloping structure reminiscent of a gazebo, similarly inhabits its surrounding vista. Ensconced in a pine forest north of Madrid, the lower level is embedded in rock and connected to the upper by a natural stone wall. Shinichi Ogawa's Seaside House is an immaculate two-story minimalist marvel in Kanagawa that overlooks the Pacific. Its living area spills onto a cantilevered terrace and infinity pool, almost dissolving into the ocean as one seamless entity. In Vietnam, Shunri Nishizawa's House in Chau Doc exudes tropical sophistication with exposed timber beams, woven bamboo, plants, concrete panels, and inner balconies and terraces. Its corrugated iron panels act as moveable walls and shutters, ushering in views of surrounding rice fields.These homes-along with more than 50 others-are each remarkably distinct in design. They all, however, toe the line between inside and outside, each one symbiotic with its surroundings.

Mariánský sloup
Kniha přístupnou a atraktivní formou pojednává o vzniku, stržení i obnově mariánského sloupu na Staroměstském náměstí v Praze.
Sloup byl postaven jako pomník k poctě Bohorodičky na poděkování za obranu Prahy před pleněním švédských vojsk v roce 1648. Místo, kde stál a opět stojí, lze bez obav označit za duchovní střed Prahy i Evropy. Dílo českého raněbarokního sochaře Jana Jiřího Bendla považují mnozí po zásluze za umělecky hodnotnější, než jsou podobné sloupy ve Vídni a v Mnichově.
Autor nezastírá, že sloup je předmětem ostrých historických, politických a konfesních sporů, volá ovšem po vzájemném porozumění a usmíření. Když se sloup v listopadu 1918 stal terčem politováníhodného vandalského činu, nikdo netušil, že se jeho obnovy dočkáme až v létě 2020. Stržení sloupu se ale mezitím stalo mohutným impulsem pro výstavbu řady nových kostelů na různých místech Prahy (viz epilog knihy).
Autor uvádí do pozoruhodných souvislostí stavby, události i osobnosti, spjaté s Mariánským sloupem. Jeho výklad doprovázejí desítky fotografií, ukázky z dobových dokumentů, reprodukce výtvarných děl, ale i modlitby, dopisy, básně a věroučné reflexe.

Zaha Hadid Complete Works 1979-Today. 2020 Edition
Zaha Hadid was a revolutionary architect. For years, she was widely acclaimed and won numerous prizes despite building practically nothing. Some even said her work was simply impossible to build.
Yet, during the latter years of her life, Hadid's daring visions became a reality, bringing a new and unique architectural language to cities and structures such as the Port House in Antwerp, the Al Janoub Stadium near Doha, Qatar, and the spectacular new airport terminal in Beijing. By her untimely death in 2016, Hadid was firmly established among architecture's finest elite, working on projects in China, the Middle East, the United States, and Russia. She was the first female architect to win both the Pritzker Prize for architecture and the prestigious RIBA Royal Gold Medal, with her long-time Partner Patrik Schumacher now the leader of Zaha Hadid Architects and in charge of many new projects.

Spojuje je nejen generační příslušnost, ale také hodnotová orientace, která se propisuje do jejich tvorby a zajišťuje jim na mapě soudobé české architektury osobitou pozici. K jejich charakteristickým rysům patří hledání nových možností interpretace architektonické a stavitelské tradice, respekt k místu a kontextu i zájem o materiálovou a řemeslnou stránku stavění.
Svou tvorbou dokazují paradox, že je možné být konzervativní a moderní zároveň. Jejich architektura se vyznačuje jistou solidností, která však není usedlá: klasickou tradici, hladkou modernistickou eleganci i inspiraci architekturou anonymních stavitelů dovedou přetavit v soudobý a funkční nový celek. Jejich domy dobře slouží lidem mimo jiné i proto, že jsou pro ně čitelné a neztrácejí lidské měřítko. Podobnou ohleduplnost jako k člověku prokazují i k místu a krajině. Není divu, že realizace této dvojice získaly domácí i mezinárodní ocenění včetně nominace na Evropskou cenu za současnou architekturu – Mies van der Rohe Award.

Középkori templomok a Felső-Tisza-vidéken
A Felső-Tisza-vidék Magyarország középkori templomokban leggazdagabb régiója. Míg a DUna-Tisza közén és a Tiszántúlon alig találni a román és a gótikus korból fennmaradt egyházi építményt, addig a Felső-Tisza vidékén több tucat ma is használatban álló középkori templomot láthatunk.
