Album vedut Království českého
Vlna zájmu o minulost přinesla v závěru 18. a první polovině 19. století střední Evropě zvýšenou pozornost o architektonické památky. Tehdy se rozšířila veduta, vyobrazení skutečné či smyšlené krajiny s architekturou. Jelikož zájem neustával ani v polovině 19. století, vydal nakladatel Eduard Hölzel v roce 1864 ve spolupráci s malíři, kreslíři a litografy Augustem Haunem, Františkem Kalivodou a Edvardem Heroldem soubor osmačtyřiceti litografií pod názvem “Malerisch-historisches Album des Königreichs Böhmen” s průvodním textem Ferdinanda B. Mikovce. Jednotlivé listy zachytily známá i méně známá města, hrady, zámky či místa Čech, jako např. Bezděz, České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Karlovy Vary, Karlštejn, Loket, Mariánské Lázně, Náchod, Osek, Prahu, Rábí, Sloup, Tábor, Vyšší Brod, Zvíkov, Žebrák a Točník a Zvíkov. Vznikl tak významný soubor, ceněný pro výtvarné zpracování a věrné zachycení všech míst do dnešní doby.
URBEX
Urban exploration, zkráceně URBEX nebo také městský průzkum či průzkum všeho opuštěného, co vzniklo lidskou rukou, je jedním z největších fenoménů moderní doby. Činnost, jejíž kořeny sahají mnoho staletí nazpět, zažívá v současnosti obrovský příliv popularity i v České republice. Lidí, kteří tyto stavby navštěvují, vyhledávají a fotografují, přibývá.
Dvě urbexerky Bára a Katka už jich navštívily stovky. O některé z nich se chtějí podělit i se čtenáři a proto vznikla kniha plná mystických fotografií a příběhů z návštěv vil, kostelů, nemocnice či celého opuštěného města. Ke komunitě urbexerů se hlásí mnoho osob. „Zanech pouze stopy, odnes jen fotky“ je motto, kterým se řídí většina vyznavačů této poněkud netradiční a často nebezpečné záliby. Nevytvářet vstupy, neodnášet vybavení, nezveřejňovat lokace. To jsou hlavní pravidla urbexerů, kterými se snaží zabránit tomu, aby byla místa zničena.
V komunitě existuje dilema: „Prozradím a pomohu zachránit, nebo prozradím a možná už nebude co zachraňovat. Na pár míst se možná skutečně podařilo upozornit, ale několik dalších bylo vandaly a zloději poničeno natolik, že už skoro není důvod je navštěvovat.

Tradiční čínská architektura

Ruskin v Podstatě gotiky formuluje své originální umělecko-společenské chápání gotické architektury jako průniku vnějších architektonických forem a vnitřního ducha gotiky a definuje její charakteristické umělecké a morální znaky. Gotika se tak Ruskinovi stává uměleckým slohem, který na rozdíl od odlidštěného (nejen) moderního prefabrikovaného umění předpokládá, ba přímo vyžaduje originalitu, invenci a tvůrčí svobodu umělců a řemeslníků (ale i diváků) a lze ji právem chápat jako výraz zdravější a morálnější společnosti.
