Od dětství toužil malovat, zprvu splnil přání svého otce a stal, stejně jako on, uměleckým knihařem. V osmdesátých letech minulého století byl dokonce dvorním knihařem Lyry Pragensis, což byla ve své době prestižní a svým způsobem nezávislá umělecká instituce. Logicky tak ve své výtvarné tvorbě zprvu navazoval na svá předchozí díla.
Těžiště tvorby zajímají abstraktní velkoformátová plátna. Ve skutečnosti přenáší motivy a techniky z knižních vazeb do velkých ploch a je až zvláštní, jak lehce dosahuje dokonalé harmonické rovnováhy ve svých obrazech. Inspiruje ho hudba, miluje jazz, krajina, ale sám říká, že jeho inspirací je vlastně vše a malování jej osvobozuje. Je to jeho nitěrný soukromý duševní ráj, naplněný intenzivními pocity rozkoše, radosti a vzrušení.
