Na konci 10. století vznikl zcela nový žánr klasické arabské prózy – maqáma. Vytvořil jej Abú ’l-Fadl Ahmad ibn al-Husajn ibn Jahjá, jemuž se v dějinách arabské literatury dostalo příhodného označení Badí‘ az-Zamán (Div své doby). Pre-Raphaelites
