Can physical movement be considered a metaphor for our thought? Can we understand it as a method which allows us to relate to thought processes by other than verbal means? The project was constructed around these questions, and connects the exhibition with a series of lectures, screenings and discussions which will be realized in GAMU throughout the upcoming year. Their shared interest lies in the zone where contemporary dance and choreography meets visual and fine art, exploring the relationship of our bodily movement and its structure with various aspects of our reality. This publication is a catalog summarizing the entire project, but at the same time it also contains a set of theoretical texts by the curator and several participating artists. These are either directly related to the given issue, or take into account the ideological background of the creation of the given personalities and works. Similar to the year-long process of collective dialogue and disciplinary transgressions, this book is also the result of a joint dance in which the individual participants changed their roles and points of view several times.

Martin Vongrej (1986) v současnosti reprezentuje patrně nejstrukturovanější podobu vizuální tvorby na Slovensku. Ve svých dílech se snaží obsáhnout liminální prostor mezi myšlenkovou spekulací a konceptuálně-minimalistickou estetikou; kombinuje vizualitu se subjektivně pojatou filozofickou rovinou. Klíčovou součástí jeho uměleckých výzkumů je zejména vztah mezi viditelným a neviditelným, který autor označuje rovněž jako „vnořování se do nitra virtuálního bodu". Tento virtuální (neviditelný) bod Vongrej nachází v přírodě (například v pomyslném středu letokruhů stromu), v geometrických objektech (torus, Möbiova páska) a také v lineární perspektivní konstrukci (úběžník jako virtuální bod průniku sbíhavých linií).

Od dob svého vzniku v Paříži v polovině 19. století představuje myšlenka bohémství vlivnou a přetrvávající součást umělecké identity. Ačkoliv měli lidé zabývající se uměním vždy pověst těch, kdo žijí mimo společenské normy, právě tehdy a na tomto místě byl tento životní styl poprvé přijat systematicky a zromantizován. Koncept bohémy se rychle ujal i mezinárodně a po druhé světové válce se objevil na mnoha různých místech po celém světě. Bohemia: Příběh fenoménu, 1950–2000 mapuje rozdíly i prvky kontinuity v rozmanitých projevech těchto scén. Končí na sklonku 20. století, kdy komoditní kultura začala až příliš nahlodávat způsob života založený na jejím odmítání. Myšlenka bohémství nicméně nadále nabízí alternativu ke konformitě, a proto dodnes vzbuzuje fascinaci. Dokonce i z hlubin minulosti nadále láká životními styly, které stále burcují a inspirují. Tato publikace doprovází obsáhlou výstavu pořádanou Kunsthalle Praha a pojednává o důležitých dílech pestré řady umělců a umělkyň jako Stan Douglas, Ed van der Elsken, Nan Goldin, Tomislav Gotovac, Peter Hujar, Libuše Jarcovjáková, Alice Neel, Wolfgang Tillmans, Zhang Huan a další. Autor knihy, Russell Ferguson, působí jako profesor a výzkumný pracovník na University of California v Los Angeles a široce publikuje o poválečném a současném umění. Mezi jeho knihy patří například tituly In Memory of My Feelings: Frank O’Hara and American Art (1999) a ve spolupráci s Kerrym Brougherem Damage Control: Art and Destruction since 1950 (2013).

Reprint slavné knihy Kinetismus z roku 1941 s předmluvou teoretika umění Petera Weibela a s doslovem historika umění Tomáše Pospiszyla. Zdeněk Pešánek (1896–1965) byl průkopníkem kinetického umění. Sochař, malíř, architekt a člen avantgardní umělecké skupiny Devětsil, byl v meziválečném období autorem unikátních multimediálních objektů a nástrojů, ale také originálním teoretikem umění. Text Kinetismu vznikal původně ve 20. letech 20. století. Kromě Pešánkovy originální koncepce kinetického umění, která předznamenává umění nových médií a počítačů, nabízí kniha schémata ohňostrojů a světelných fontán a podrobný popis řešení Pešánkovy kineticko-světelné plastiky pro Edisonovu transformační stanici a plastik oslavujících 100 let elektřiny.

TEXTile Manifestoes je mezioborová antologie, která spřádá nejrůznější otázky spojené s textilním uměním, módou, textualitou a vetkává je do širších politických, sociologických, filosofických a umělecko-historických souvislostí, čímž překračuje rámec jejich vlastní textury. Propojením triadického celku TEXTu – TEXTilu – TEXTury se TEXTile Manifestoes snaží reflektovat, kreativně přetvářet, kriticky promýšlet, dekonstruovat a dekolonializovat žánrovou ambivalenci manifestu jakožto převážně mužské formy modernity, která autoritářsky usiluje o zcela odlišnou budoucnost. Antologie vychází ze strukturálního a metaforického sepjetí textu a textilu, aby se pokusila jiným způsobem promyslet politické a etické otázky současného světa, který se tak zoufale snaží hledat jistoty a zřetelný program moderního manifestu, a to aniž by se uchýlil k těm nejhorším formám totality. Původní projekt „TEXTile Manifestoes“ vznikl z mezioborové spolupráce několika ateliérů na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze. Studentky a studenti ateliérů designu oděvu a obuvi, grafického designu a vizuální komunikace, tvorby písma a typografie a fotografie II byli osloveni, aby společně propletli textil a diskurz jakožto vlastní manifesty kombinující módní kolekce a palčivé otázky současného světa, jako je všudypřítomný dohled a kontrola, umělá inteligence, nebo virtuální realita, případně otázky osobnější týkající se identity, paměti a (duševního) zdraví. Annotation in English: The TEXTile Manifestoes is an interdisciplinary anthology that assembles and interweaves questions related to textile art, fashion and textuality into broader political, sociological, philosophical, art history and historical frameworks thereby expanding their range of textural interconnections. This anthology departs from the genre-related ambivalence of the manifesto as a modern male form of authoritatively demanding radically different futures by using the manifesto to connect with the triadic complex of TEXT – TEXTile – TEXTure in order to reflect, refashion and redefine it in creative, critical, deconstructive and decolonial ways. Departing from the structural and metaphorical contiguity of texts and textiles, TEXTile Manifestoes aims to rethink the political and ethical in a world desperately seeking the certainties and clear programmes of modern manifestoes without returning to the worst forms of historical totality. The original project “TEXTile Manifestoes” emerged out of a cross-disciplinary collaboration between several studios at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Students from the Studios of Fashion and Footwear Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication and Type Design as well as Photography II worked together to weave textiles and discourses alike to design their manifestoes by combining fashion collections with burning contemporary issues such as mass surveillance, artifical intelligence or virtual reality but also to more private struggles of identity, memory and (mental) health. The students’ works were later complemented by and (re)contextualised with international contributions ranging from ancient Andean textile studies to neuropsychoanalysis or from literary and art criticism to aesthetics and musicology. Publikace představuje nový a originální pohled na média rozhlas a film: zkoumá, jak se ovlivňují a inspirují a jak to obohacuje umělecký účinek obou médií. Vychází ze zevrubných analýz rozhlasové tvorby filmových režisérů Woodyho Allena, Ingmara Bergmana a Federica Felliniho a zamýšlí se nad vztahem jejich rozhlasového a filmového díla. Druhou část práce tvoří komparace původních rozhlasových her Sorry, Wrong Number od Lucille Fletcher, Under Milk Wood od Dylana Thomase a Der gute Gott von Manhattan od Ingeborg Bachmann s jejich filmovými adaptacemi. Problematika je nahlížena především z pozice rozhlasového média – autorka v práci zúročuje zkušenosti z vlastní tvorby pro rozhlas i z pedagogického působení na Divadelní fakultě JAMU, v jehož rámci vede též studentské audio projekty. Navazuje na východiska rozhlasových teoretiků Josefa Branžovského, Paula Deharma, Lance Sievekinga a dalších, kteří zdůrazňovali schopnost zvukového média podněcovat fantazii posluchače. Odhaluje, v čem spočívá podstata a kouzlo zvukového umění, a dochází k závěru, že i v současném mediálním světě má rozhlasová hra své nezastupitelné místo.

Katalóg výstavy performera, básnika a organizátora festivalov Rokka Juhásza (1963) predstavuje výber z jeho performerskej dráhy z uplynulých rokov (2013 – 2023). Jeho aktivity sa realizujú najmä na zahraničných intermediálnych platformách, projektoch a rezidenčných pobytoch. Všestranného tvorcu s viacerými identitami, možno považovať za duchovného dediča novozámockého rodáka, avantgardistu Lajosa Kassáka (1887 – 1967). Hlásil sa k nemu vo svojej tvorbe a v rôznych projektoch (Kassák mail art, 1987, Album Kassákov kód, 2007). V roku 1987 s Ilonou Németh, Ottom Mészárosom a Attilom Simonom, si založili skupinu STÚDIÓ ERTÉ, vytvorili platformu pre experimentálne žánre a organizovali medzinárodné festivaly intermediálneho umenia (1988 – 2018), ktoré vošli do dejín pod názvom Transart communication. Katalóg glosuje jeho performerskú dráhu za uplynulé desaťročie. V tomto období sa zúčastnil diania na medzinárodnej scéne, ako etablovaný aktér performerskej špičky. Ťažisko výstavy tvorili ikonické performance (Ľudský hľadinomer, 2013, Budapešť; Kto si ty Piri? 2015 – 2023, Machu Picchu, Oaxaca, New York, Jeruzalem, Hongkong; Čakanie na zázrak, 2015, Jeruzalem, 2016 Budapešť; Transport času, 2016, Lijiang; Národné sny, 2016, Changsha; Niečo sa stane, 2018, Bratislava – Viedeň; Macondo I.- II., 2022, Praha, Jáger), v ktorých autor skúmal reakcie okolia, problém národnej či kultúrnej identity, zdieľania vedomostí a pocitov, zásadné otázky existencie, fungovanie pamäte, plynutia času – uvažoval o univerzálnych otázkach v univerzálnych kategóriách - v rámci vlastnej subjektívnej histórie, „stredoeurópanstva“ a cestovateľa. Od roku 2011 Rokko Juhász sa stal cestovateľom medzi svetmi - kozmonomádom – naplno rozvinul rolu sprostredkovateľa „kultúrnej misie“ a transkultúrneho dialógu. Prostredníctvom performance prepája rôzne krajiny s rôznymi spoločenským systémami a kultúrnymi tradíciami – od Číny, Thajska, Indie, Chile, Peru, Izrael, Bangladéš, Tajvan, Argentínu – po Mexiko – zdieľa vlastné skúsenosti a systém hodnôt.

Divadelný ústav v spolupráci so Stanicou Žilina-Záriečie pripravili netradičnú výstavu venovanú významnému 20. výročiu založenia multifunkčného nezávislého priestoru Stanica Žilina-Záriečie. Kurátor Marek Godovič zostavil spolu s Marekom Adamovom výstavu s názvom 20 rokov cesty do Stanice, ktorý zachytáva míľniky a časové obdobia, ktoré formovali priestor staničného domčeka. Výstava je netradičná svojou formou, nakoľko vyzerá ako stolový kalendár.
