Úgy kezdődött, hogy Szegvári Kati és Érdi Sándor nógatott, csináljak már egy tévéműsort. Elhessegettem őket. Végül leírtam, mire gondolok. Tartok egy rövid bevezetőt, utána behívom a vendégem, és ő történeteket mesél magáról. Felelevenítjük a régi, ráérős történetmesélés hagyományait.
Megmutatták a tévé akkori vezetőjének, ő elolvasta, s azt kérdezte: - Jó. De mi lesz a műsor?
Sosem értettem, miért lett ennyire népszerű, persze, örültem neki. Nem bántam volna, ha három-négymillióan olvassák a regényeimet, s csak nyolcvan-százezren nézik a LEHETETLEN-t. Nem baj, közös öröm, dupla öröm.
RÖGTÖN (2000-2001)
Már három éve nem tévéztem, és csöppet sem hiányzott, amikor a Magyar Televízió éppen új elnöke (elnökök jöttek és mentek) üzent értem. Ekkor tájt a nemrég alakult kereskedelmi tévék már kiütötték az államit. Meglepően fiatal ember fogadott, idősebbre számítottam. Azt mondta, az MTV-t - így hívták még - cserben hagyták a nagy sztárjai, legyek kedves segíteni, csináljak új műsort. Gondolkodtam, s fölajánlottam, jöjjenek el, nézzék meg a RÖGTÖN SZÍNHÁZ-at az IBS-ben, ebből talán lehetne tévés produkciót csinálni. Nem jöttek el, de megbíztak bennem. Így elindult a képernyőkön a RÖGTÖN.
Két tévéműsor emlékére készült ez a kötet. Állandóan kérdezgették (-ik) az újságírók, hogyan fér meg bennem a prózaírás és a tévézés. Úgy érzem, bizonyos írói tapasztalataimat hasznosítottam a műsorkészítésben is. Az, hogy a kötet ebben a sorozatban jelenik meg, jelzi, életművem részének tekintem a LEHETETLEN-t és a RÖGTÖN-t. Arranged in alphabetical order, each tree is broken down into three different cross-section cuts of wood (radial, horizontal, and tangential), demonstrating the particular characteristics of the grain and the wealth of colors and textures to be found among the many different wood types.
Also included in this special edition are lithographs by Charles Sprague Sargent of the leaves and nuts of most trees, as well as texts explaining each tree's geographical origins and physical characteristics.

Svazek Hry II. přináší překlady Schnitzlerových děl z let 1901 až 1916. Všechny české překlady druhého svazku vycházejí knižně poprvé. Vedle vrcholných celovečerních děl (Krajina širá, Profesor Bernhardi, Fink a Fliederbusch) tento svazek obsahuje i autorovy aktovky, z nichž některé pojednávají nanejvýš rafinovaně a nuancovaně téma manželské nevěry a lásky, další svědčí o dramatikově zaujetí pro experimenty s netradičními žánry. Cult of kitsch. The art and history of the Tiki phenomenon. Tiki culture at its height was a manifestation of exotic visions of island culture inspired by the tales of American soldiers stationed in the South Pacific during World War II: trees loaded with exotic fruits, sleepy lagoons, white-sand beaches, and gorgeous people wearing grass skirts as they danced half-naked during all-night orgies of food and music. Americans embraced these visions and incorporated fantasy into reality: mid-century fashion, popular music, eating and drinking, and even architecture were influenced by the Tiki trend. With unfettered enthusiasm - ignoring scholarly authenticity and political correctness - American artisans molded the Tiki into their own image, creating a mid-century pop culture genre that was forgotten until the 2000s, when urban archaeologist Sven Kirsten wrested the figure of the Tiki from obscurity with his pioneering TASCHEN books The Book of Tiki and Tiki Modern.
