A ujišťuje nás, že konec tohoto věku bude počátkem nového, úžasného, v němž budeme sloužit Pánu a uctívat ho s bezhříšnou dokonalostí.
John MacArthur vysvětluje knihu Zjevení věroučně přesně a zároveň prakticky.

This Is No Game
Horse races. Slam dunks. The ground game. Sports metaphors are ubiquitous in American politics. In this book, Benjamin Darr catalogs and critiques the various ways that sports shape our popular perceptions of politics and elections, leading to misunderstandings, misconceptions, and mistakes in our expectations for democracy and how it should function. Seeing politics as a sport ultimately generates a warped conception of democracy which overlooks the people and glorifies elites. This happens via two broad paths. First, the role of the citizen is replaced by the fan, whose job is not to act in the common good, or even in on? own interests, but to cheer from the stands for on? favorite elite team. A second danger arises from an excessive focus on the strategy of the game of politics. This not only provides politicians with cover for broken promise? ut also points us to technical experts who tell us exactly how we should play the game, leading us toward micromanaged technocracy rather than democratic accountability. In these ways, thinking of politics as a sport often points us away from the ideals of democracy and instead toward the optimization of elite power.

The Great Arcanum
A pioneering analysis of Eliphas Lévi’s The Doctrine and Ritual of High Magic, one if the most influential works of occult literature, exploring ceremonial magic, magical philosophy, cabala, hermeticism and more! The work of Eliphas Lévi has undoubtedly shaped the course of modern magic. The Doctrine and Ritual of High Magic systemised magical theory and practice in a way that re-situated occultism as a serious field of academic study, moving it away from the fringes of society into a massive cultural force in the Western world. Chapters include discussion on cabala, sacred geometry, necromancy, astrology, enchantments, philosophy, and much more. But the transmission of Lévi’s work in the English-speaking was disrupted by the wider politics of contemporary occult circles, meaning that it was often ignored as a key text in occult schools and mystical traditions. Now, for the first time, The Great Arcanum – John Michael Greer’s groundbreaking analysis and commentary of The Doctrine and Ritual of High Magic – changes this, uncovering the key themes and messages in Lévi’s work for use in magical study. Greer focuses specifically on how Lévi was able to so successfully revolutionise magical practice in the Western world, and the meanings that can be gleaned from his writing. Key themes discussed include the source of magical power; astral light as the foundation for magical phenomena; and using the tarot deck as a key to unlock the secrets of the occult tradition. The Great Arcanum delves right into the core of where modern magic was born, and will prove a stimulating and thought-provoking read for any serious student or practitioner of the occult.

The Umbrella Man and Other Stories
Dallas, 22 November 1963. The main event is supposed to be downtown, on Main Street. News footage shows office workers leaning out of windows, peering at the motorcade through a blizzard of ticker tape. On the sidewalks, the crowds are fifty deep, a wall of noise and celebration. Everyone thinks this is the place to be. A few blocks away, in Dealey Plaza, the air is different. There is no ticker tape here. The crowds are thin. The only person filming is a dressmaker balanced on a concrete plinth. In this quiet corner, there's a man opening an umbrella even though it isn't raining, a construction worker in a hard hat who claims he was sent here by God, three tramps who stand on the verge of becoming suspects, an unidentified witness known only as the Babushka Lady, and many more. This is not a book about conspiracies or a lone gunman. This is a book about memory, about how we construct our shared history, and about what happens when your life is defined by a single, fleeting moment. It's about a group of real people who opted out of the main event before John F. Kennedy was assassinated, only to find themselves accidental witnesses to the most scrutinised six seconds of the twentieth century.
Birds Up Close
A renowned engineer and ornithologist reveals the marvel of how birds work from the tips of their beaks to the sheen of their tailfeathers. With over 150 full-color illustrations, a unique gift book for everyone from the avid birder to the bird beginner. Consider feathers: They define birds wings, enabling flight. They insulate against cold. They repel water. They even control sound. And how feathers work is just one aspect of the wonders of birds explained by pathbreaking researcher and lifelong birder Lorna Gibson in Birds Up Close. Feathers, bones, bills, eggs, flight: all come in for scrutiny in this engaging book. What produces the iridescence of plumage? How does the internal structure of a bird s bones make them lightweight? How do different birds use their bills and tongues from woodpeckers penetrating the holes they drill to hummingbirds imbibing nectar, to sandpipers needling the sand, and to phalaropes drawing water droplets containing plankton into their mouths without sucking (no lips!)? Drawing on her expertise and personal experience in both engineering and ornithology, the author explores the hidden microscopic structures and engineering principles that keep birds aloft and alive how an egg is formed, how a bird generates lift; how raptors soar and glide, albatrosses fly thousands of miles, hummingbirds hover, puffins and penguins fly underwater. She also considers the longer view of birds in their habitats and natural history. Her up-close look at avian mysteries provides a perspective like no other for the expert ornithologist and curious observer alike.

The Strange Death of Christian England, and Its Glorious Resurrection
In 2019 Melvyn Bragg, in a Sunday Times interview with Bryan Appleyard, described being at a family christening when the priest asked everyone to join in the Lord’s Prayer. Bragg realised he was the only one who knew the words. “We have lost it Bryan, in two generations“ said Bragg, “not just the faith but the narratives that go with it” As the son of a clergyman who grew up in rural north Suffolk in the 1950s Andrew Hayward realised that Bragg spoke the truth. Indeed, the church attendance figures prove it. This book is not just about the loss of faith but what then happened to society in its absence. How it affected education, culture and indeed life itself. The age of deference was dead. The author took four years to write this book and happily, as a Christian, post covid has seen numerous signs of revival. Long may that continue.
Broken Circle
An ancient legend reborn. A killer recreating dark rituals. And a detective racing to break the circle before it’s complete. When the body of a teenage girl is found posed in the Merry Maidens stone circle, her face coated in clay and ochre, DS Liam Kilshaw is drawn into a case where near-forgotten fictions bleed into brutal fact. With echoes of an old folktale of dancers turned to stone, the scene is more about staging than superstition. And when two skeletons are unearthed beneath a nearby stone, Kilshaw realises the past is far from dead and buried. As he hunts for a missing farmhand linked to the girl, more victims surface, each placed with ritual precision in remote ancient sites. With the noose tightening, Kilshaw must decipher centuries-old secrets to break the circle. Because in this deadly game of ancient rites and cold-blooded murder, the killer is saving the most important sacrifice for last. A haunting crime thriller where medieval legends collide with modern murder, perfect for fans of LJ Ross and Peter James.
Dragon Man - An Actor's Transformation
When universal patterns and personal journeys intertwine, they reveal the profound connection between mind and world, inviting us to discover the powerful, transformative meaning at the heart of our experiences. This engaging book delves into the invisible forces that subtly shape our actions, thoughts, and feelings. Drawing from his life as a half-Japanese, Canadian actor and poet in Tokyo, West weaves his personal narrative with the mythic story of Susanoo, the storm god, and his battle against the multi-headed dragon, Yamata no Orochi. This exploration blends lessons from acting and Japanese aesthetics with insights into creativity, mindfulness, and the quest for meaning, forming a poignant collage of redemption and self-discovery. As West examines archetypes - the templates of Universal Mind - he illustrates how these patterns exist like a stencil awaiting color. They come to life when imbued with significance through our beliefs and choices. His journey serves as a testament to resilience, as the book embodies the healing that allows him to rekindle his dreams. Through this fusion of memoir and spiritual guidance, readers are inspired to reflect on their own lives and recognize the signs and patterns that lead to a personal awakening of their destiny. Ultimately, this poetic work urges us to acknowledge that real meaning can be found anytime, anywhere, so long as we dare to see the beauty within ourselves and in the world around us. I? in the delicate balance of pattern and possibility that we uncover our true selves and the stories worth believing in.
