EXODUS: The Helium Sea
The epic conclusion of the far-future Archimedes Engine duology by legendary author Peter F. Hamilton. For millennia, the Crown Dominion has been at relative peace, with the Celestials in control and the human population little better than serfs. But now the Crown Dominion is facing a crisis of epic proportions – one that could change the balance of power in the Centauri Cluster forever – as an exiled faction that has been waiting for seven thousand years beyond the Helium Sea has returned to claim its vengeance. For Finn and his human allies, who have ended up at the center of this conflict through either circumstance or manipulation, this is an unprecedented opportunity. If they can band together, they may be able to outwit the Celestials and finally earn their fellow humans a place of independence and power in the Crown Dominion. But first they must locate and master ancient artifacts of immense power that could give them a needed edge in the conflict ahead – all while ducking the forces that are determined to knock them off the board for good. * * *Praise for Exodus: The Archimedes Engine‘A perfect balance of ingenious ideas and intricate execution. Fancy Work
What can a scrap of embroidery tell us about how to live? How can the past help us imagine unconstrained lives when not all traces remain? To explore these questions, Alice Hattrick turns to the embroidery designer May Morris and her circle, including her father William Morris; her mother Jane, an artist’s model and embroiderer herself; and MF, May’s gender non-conforming partner of twenty years. Through this queer encounter with the Arts and Crafts movement, Hattrick shifts attention from dominant narratives of design towards intimacy, labour and domestic life. Looking to May – alongside others who have found in textiles a means of resistance – Hattrick traces connections between these histories and their own queer identity, family ties and precarious working conditions within an ableist society. Expansive in thought, form and time, Fancy Work stitches together archival fragments, domestic spaces and ongoing sites of struggle, insisting on the political force of often overlooked acts of defiance.

Soviet Artillery Tractors of World War II
Packed with rare and unpublished photographs, this is a new history of the Red Army’s tracked artillery tractors that were pivotal to its success in World War II. The development of artillery tractors in the 1930s was integral to the industrial development of the Soviet Union. The tracked tractor plants at Chelyabinsk, Kharkov and Stalingrad were built specifically to industrialize the Soviet Union as well as to mechanize the Red Army, particularly the artillery. This new study by Russian armour expert James Kinnear tells the story of these artillery tractors. How they suffered horrendous losses in the opening months of the war but continued to be built and their numbers were bolstered by Lend-Lease tractors, primarily of American origin. At the end of the war, the same slow-moving and cumbersome artillery tractors that had served with the Red Army in the dark days of 1941 towed their heavy artillery pieces at a steady pace all the way to the streets of Berlin. There has been a resurgence of interest in recent years in these military workhorses and wrecks have been exhumed and restored, while Soviet factory and operational records have also become available. This new research is used here for the first time in English, alongside unpublished images, to tell the remarkable story of the artillery tractors that delivered Red Army artillery into combat throughout World War II.

Menšia a väčšia legenda osvätom Gerardovi biskupovi
Prostredníctvom vzácneho teologicko-filozofického spisu, úvah či „rozjímania“svätého Gerarda (Deliberatio Gerardi) – zachovaného v jedinom stredovekom rukopise – máme možnosť nahliadnuť do autentických myšlienok, úvah a biblických interpretácií prvého čanádskeho biskupa.
Nová latinsko-slovenská edícia, obsahujúca aj sprievodné štúdie o osobnosti a dobe svätého Gerarda, prináša prvý slovenský preklad oboch legiend o svätom Gerardovi.
