A Reader's Hebrew Bible
A Reader's Hebrew Bible: Second Edition is a classic and essential tool for students of biblical Hebrew. The Reader presents the Hebrew and Aramaic text of the Leningrad Codex (minus the critical apparatus) alongside the English translation of the New International Version. Hebrew words that occur one-hundred times or less (twenty-five or less for Aramaic words) are given definitions in footnotes, allowing students to focus on reading, comprehension, parsing, and grammatical issues. Shaded Hebrew names that occur less than one-hundred times help ease reading, and parsing information in footnotes aid students in understanding meaning and English renderings. Ketiv/Qere readings are noted in the text throughout. The Italian Duo-Tone binding, ribbon marker, and easy-to-read Hebrew font make this Reader an attractive Bible for reading and study. The new features of this updated edition of the A Reader's Hebrew Bible include four-color maps and an "Index of the Bible's Use of the Bible" by award-winning author Gary Edward Schnittjer. The index is based on Schnittjer's careful work of Scripture's use of Scripture and lists all allusions tied directly to the Hebrew and Greek languages. Sigla inform the reader of the type of relationship between texts. This important addition sets A Reader's Hebrew Bible apart from other Hebrew resources, promoting careful and fruitful study of the Hebrew Bible.

Árulás.
Ő volt az éjszakában rám váró álnokság, a váratlan igazság. Egész életemben átvertek. Most végre megtudtam az igazat. A bábja voltam, csak nem vettem észre a zsinórjaimat.
Hiába tudom, hogy elárult, nem tudok megszabadulni a köztünk lévő, tagadhatatlan köteléktől. Gray egyetlen pillantásával képes lángra lobbantani a lelkemet.

The coast is, and always has been, our first line of defence and our springboard to other cultures. Readers will discover how the coast has influenced our beliefs, economy, and even our domestic lives. And, looking out to sea, this book will show how Britain’s story is anchored to those of our European neighbours and of faraway lands. Winter War 1939–40
The first illustrated study in English of the Finnish Air Force’s battle to repel the Soviet invaders during the Winter War, one of the greatest David-and-Goliath air battles in history. In 1939, the Soviet Union invaded its neighbour Finland, sparking the Winter War. While Finland was heavily outnumbered in all respects, in few respects was the contest so uneven as in the air. In this book, veteran Finnish aviation historian Kari Stenman draws on his decades of research to present the first account in English of the Finnish Air Force’s defence of the country’s skies, a clash that pitted its 114 combat aircraft against the Soviets’ 2,318. He explains that, equipped initially with a handful of British and Dutch aircraft, Finland’s air force adopted similar guerrilla tactics to its infantry. Fokker D.XXI interceptors were scattered to remote landing grounds to ambush the Soviets and give an impression of strength, while the bombers were first used for long-range reconnaissance and harassment. Over the course of the war, the Finns received new Gladiators, Fiat G.50s and French MS.406s, until at the close of the war, all flying units were thrown in to repel the Russian invasion across the frozen Gulf of Finland. Illustrated with previously unpublished photos, superb original artwork, 3D diagrams and maps, this reveals for the first time the full story of how Finnish aviators fought for their country’s independence.
Billy Graham
Billy Graham Was the World’s Best-Known Evangelist—Loved and Admired by Millions. But Very Few Knew Him Personally. Pastor and bestselling author Greg Laurie was one of those fortunate few, blessed with an insider’s view of Billy Graham’s world for more than two decades. With the same painstaking research and eye for detail that distinguishes his previous biographies, Steve McQueen: Salvation of an American Icon and Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon, Laurie now turns to the life of his beloved mentor, offering the intimate perspective of a disciple and friend. As a strapping North Carolina farm boy, Graham surrendered his life to Jesus at a camp meeting led by a blustery itinerant preacher, but he never lost the mischievous twinkle in his eye or his fun-loving air. Laurie sheds light on Graham’s lesser-known struggles—such as a broken heart before he met the love of his life and a crisis of faith from which he emerged stronger than ever. From the evangelist’s private challenges and public successes to his disappointments and joys, Billy Graham: The Man I Knew provides a vivid portrait of one of history’s most remarkable Christian lives.
Dirty Kitchen
“Searing…Jill Damatac tells the story of a fight for survival and culture in America.” —The New York Times “A fiercely honest, eye-opening view of one undocumented family’s experiences trying to start over in a new world.” —The San Francisco Chronicle In the style of Crying in H Mart and Minor Feelings, filmmaker Jill Damatac blends memoir, food writing, and colonial history as she cooks her way through recipes from her native-born Philippines and shares stories of her undocumented family in America. Jill Damatac left the United States in 2015 after living there as an undocumented immigrant with her family for twenty-two years. America was the only home she knew, where invisibility had become her identity and where poverty, domestic violence, ill health, and xenophobia were everyday experiences. First traveling to her native Philippines, Damatac eventually settled in London, England, where she was free to pursue an education at the University of Cambridge, fully investigate her roots, and process what happened to her and her family. After nine years, she was granted British citizenship, and returned to the United States, for the first time without fear of deportation or retribution. Damatac weaves together forgotten colonial history and long-buried Indigenous tradition, taking us through her time in America, and cooking her way through Filipino recipes in her kitchen as she searches for a sense of self and renewed possibility. With emotional intelligence, clarity, and grace, Dirty Kitchen explores fractured memories to ask questions of identity, colonialism, immigration, and belonging, and to find ways in which the ritual, tradition, and comfort of food can answer them.

The Aquatics
In the fictional African state of Zambuena, Katme lives a life of privilege as the wife of a rising political figure. Her days are governed by appearances, loyalty and restraint, until her carefully ordered world begins to fracture. Her closest confidant is Samy, a struggling artist whose work dares to expose the inequalities, repression and violence that underpin the regime. When his new exhibition draws the attention of the authorities, Samy's life is placed in immediate danger. Homosexuality is criminalised, dissent is punished, and silence is expected. As political pressure mounts, Katme is forced to confront the cost of her comfort and the limits of her complicity. The Aquatics is a powerful, unsettling novel about friendship and betrayal, state violence and moral responsibility, written with the intensity and precision of an author deeply attuned to how power operates.
