A Different Kind of Power
This is not just a book for people who follow politics, but for anyone who has ever doubted themselves, or wanted to make a difference.
The deeply personal memoir from the former prime minister of New Zealand, then the world's youngest female head of government and just the second to become a mother in office.
Jacinda Ardern grew up the daughter of a police officer in small-town New Zealand, but as the 40th Prime Minister of her country, she became a global icon for her empathetic leadership that put people first. She guided her country through unprecedented challenges, from the 2019 Christchurch mosque attacks to a global pandemic. She advanced visionary policies to address climate change and child poverty. And all while juggling first-time motherhood in the public eye.
This is the inspiring story of how a Mormon girl plagued by self-doubt changed our assumptions of what a leader can be. A Different Kind of Power is more than a political memoir. Powerfully evocative and refreshingly open, it is a profound insight into how it feels to lead and it asks: what if you, too, are capable of more than you ever imagined?
EXODUS: The Helium Sea
The epic conclusion of the far-future Archimedes Engine duology by legendary author Peter F. Hamilton.
For millennia, the Crown Dominion has been at relative peace, with the Celestials in control and the human population little better than serfs. But now the Crown Dominion is facing a crisis of epic proportions - one that could change the balance of power in the Centauri Cluster forever - as an exiled faction that has been waiting for seven thousand years beyond the Helium Sea has returned to claim its vengeance.
For Finn and his human allies, who have ended up at the center of this conflict through either circumstance or manipulation, this is an unprecedented opportunity. If they can band together, they may be able to outwit the Celestials and finally earn their fellow humans a place of independence and power in the Crown Dominion.
But first they must locate and master ancient artifacts of immense power that could give them a needed edge in the conflict ahead - all while ducking the forces that are determined to knock them off the board for good.

There are inside tales of sporting legends, an inept murderer and a pub with a perpetual debt. Be frightened by the Horrible Head and spontaneous human combustion, or cheered by the fly-swatting major and Nelson’s frustration. Discover why war hero Sir Henry William Paget suddenly fell from grace and the odd origins of Dogs Head Street and Silent Street. Daimler Fleetlines
The embryonic Daimler Motor Co. Ltd and the Lancashire Steam Motor Co. (Leyland Motors Ltd from 1907) were both formed in 1896 and produced early examples of motor vehicles in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Daimler established a number of works in the district of Radford in Coventry, where a range of high-end cars and buses were assembled.Leyland had stolen a march on Daimler by bringing the revolutionary Atlantean to the market in late 1958. It would be August 1960 before Daimler’s equivalent, the Fleetline, was introduced. The Fleetline possessed many of the attributes of the Atlantean but one gave it an advantage over its competitor. A drop-centre rear axle was fitted as standard which eliminated the need for low-height bodywork. Also, apart from a few early models, the bus was mainly powered by the ever-reliable Gardner six-cylinder engine. The two builders went toe-to-toe during the 1960s and early 1970s as the only other realistic equivalent option was the Bristol VRT. Jaguar Cars, who had acquired the company from BSA in 1960, was keen to divest itself of the Bus Building Division and this resulted in a merger with Leyland Motors. Production of the Fleetline was transferred to Leyland’s Farington site during 1973. However, it wasn’t until 1976 that the Daimler name was dropped in favour of the Leyland Fleetline brand name, which continued to be available until 1981.Over 8,700 Fleetlines were produced under the Daimler name, including a significant number of single-deck types. Here Mike Rhodes charts the fortunes of the Fleetline until the Daimler name was dropped.
VW Corrado

The car’s evolution over the years, the different variants, the special series and even the original preparations, developed by the best German tuners such as Oettinger, Treser, ABT or Zender, are also featured in this book. This indispensable guide tells the complete story of the VW Corrado.
Zaklínač II.: Meč osudu
Zaklínač – ošlehaný muž bez věku, jehož bílé vlasy nejsou znakem stáří, ale mutace, kterou musel podstoupit. Placený i dobrovolný likvidátor prapodivných tvorů: mantichor, trollů, vidlohonů, strig, amfisbain – pokud ovšem ohrožují lidský rod; v takovém případě zabíjí i bytost zvanou člověk.
Elvezet továbbá a dél-francia tájak ragyogó csendjébe, ahol a mediterrán fényben megszülettek utolsó művei, telt formákkal, meleg tónusokkal és időtlen nyugalmat sugárzó alakokkal.
Body Electric
In today’s world, a normal day means sitting in front of a screen for eight to ten hours. Meeting after meeting. Email after email. We leave our desks drained, overstimulated and unfocused, only to go home, sit down again, and scroll some more. The result? Headaches, back pain, restless sleep, and rising rates of preventable disease. We know technology is breaking us down—so why can’t we break away? It’s a question that Manoush Zomorodi has always wanted to answer. As the host of NPR's TED Radio Hour and Body Electric podcast, she has interviewed experts, conducted citizen experiments, and sought out research about how our digital lives are changing the way we think, learn, and feel. Now, in Body Electric, she presents an eye-opening investigation into the impact technology and sedentary living has had on our bodies and brains, from breath and eyesight to blood pressure, posture, and productivity, and shares what science (and tens of thousands of participants in a groundbreaking study with Columbia University Medical Center) have taught her—it’s the small shifts, not the digital detoxes, that will make us healthier. And all we need is five minutes. Filled with perspective-shifting data and real-life applications and tools, Body Electric is the next must-read for fans of Four Thousand Weeks and The Anxious Generation, and anyone else feeling trapped by their technology.
