Where There Be Monsters
Twelve-year-old Glory Brown is desperate for adventure far from her family’s quaint, quiet life at The Light Inn. Generations of Browns have been stewards of this humble hotel, which acts as a sanctuary in the stretch of monster-filled land called the Seam. But Glory wants nothing more than to learn how to use her Moxie, a special magic only kids have, and to train to become a spherinaut like her mother, exploring and documenting the perilous depths of the Outersphere. When a mysterious boy named Marcus appears one day on a top-secret mission for the Parliamentarium - the school for aspiring spherinauts - Glory packs up her beloved books and sets off on a once-in-a-lifetime journey that will shuttle her across time and space . . . and reveal new dangers lurking in the worlds beyond the Seam. For there’s mischief afoot that’s threatening the balance between the worlds, its magic, and its monsters. And it’s up to Glory to find a way to fix it before it’s too late.
Notting Hill and North Kensington Murders and Misdemeanours
Before its present-day affluence, the Notting Hill area of London once had a second-to-none reputation for its criminality. Victorian developers sought to bring in wealthy Londoners to the large villas, but in the twentieth century the houses became multi-occupancy and the area synonymous with cheap lodging and crimes of every hue. In Notting Hill and North Kensington Murders and Misdemeanours author Mick Davis explores some of the most notorious crimes associated with Notting Hill and adjoining North Kensington from the Victorian era onwards, including some of the less publicised but equally sensational crimes and infamous characters of this fascinating area. This collection of true-life crime stories gives a vivid insight into life in Notting Hill and North Kensington in the past. This book will fascinate anyone with an interest in the history of crime, as well as those who want to know more about the history of this corner of West London.

Augustína s Platónom a "pokrstenie" Aristotela Tomášom Akvinským.

Daimler Fleetlines
The embryonic Daimler Motor Co. Ltd and the Lancashire Steam Motor Co. (Leyland Motors Ltd from 1907) were both formed in 1896 and produced early examples of motor vehicles in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Daimler established a number of works in the district of Radford in Coventry, where a range of high-end cars and buses were assembled.Leyland had stolen a march on Daimler by bringing the revolutionary Atlantean to the market in late 1958. It would be August 1960 before Daimler’s equivalent, the Fleetline, was introduced. The Fleetline possessed many of the attributes of the Atlantean but one gave it an advantage over its competitor. A drop-centre rear axle was fitted as standard which eliminated the need for low-height bodywork. Also, apart from a few early models, the bus was mainly powered by the ever-reliable Gardner six-cylinder engine. The two builders went toe-to-toe during the 1960s and early 1970s as the only other realistic equivalent option was the Bristol VRT. Jaguar Cars, who had acquired the company from BSA in 1960, was keen to divest itself of the Bus Building Division and this resulted in a merger with Leyland Motors. Production of the Fleetline was transferred to Leyland’s Farington site during 1973. However, it wasn’t until 1976 that the Daimler name was dropped in favour of the Leyland Fleetline brand name, which continued to be available until 1981.Over 8,700 Fleetlines were produced under the Daimler name, including a significant number of single-deck types. Here Mike Rhodes charts the fortunes of the Fleetline until the Daimler name was dropped.
VW Corrado
The VW Corrado is a purebred sports car in its own right, originally tasked with the difficult job of replacing the legendary Scirocco coupés. It was designed to showcase the Volkswagen Group’s considerable technical and mechanical capabilities in the late 1980s. As such, it was intended to compete head-to-head with Porsche and its 924-944 models, surpassing both in many aspects, as well as other rival models such as the Ford Probe, Toyota Célica, Vauxhall Calibra and Nissan 200 SX.Here the creative and development process of the Corrado is explored in detail through informative text and a full range of illustrations. The car’s evolution over the years, the different variants, the special series and even the original preparations, developed by the best German tuners such as Oettinger, Treser, ABT or Zender, are also featured in this book. This indispensable guide tells the complete story of the VW Corrado.
Renoir
Elvezet továbbá a dél-francia tájak ragyogó csendjébe, ahol a mediterrán fényben megszülettek utolsó művei, telt formákkal, meleg tónusokkal és időtlen nyugalmat sugárzó alakokkal.

A sharp, funny, unputdownable historical(ish) debut, with an incredibly distinctive and witty voice, this romp of a novel is perfect for fans of Gwen and Art are Not in Love and Our Flag Means Death.
Kit Davenport is in trouble - not that this would surprise anyone who knows him. Headstrong, reckless, and utterly unsuited for the stodgy House of Lords, Kit has spent years dodging his father's stern disapproval and delighting in clandestine rendezvous. But time is running out. With an arranged marriage looming and the confines of white wigs and stiff decorum closing in, Kit is desperate to escape a life that feels completely wrong for him.
His solution? A wildly impulsive decision that lands him aboard the Deliverance, a galleon captained by the infuriatingly charismatic Reggie Sharpe. With a devil-may-care attitude and a delicious grin, Captain Sharpe commands the waves with his crew of misfits…who all turn out to be pirates. Before Kit can say "wrong ship," he's trading ballroom etiquette for rum-soaked camaraderie, explosive gunfights, and, perhaps most excitingly, heart-stopping kisses under the stars.
But life at sea holds just as many secrets as treasures. And when Kit's past catches up with him, he'll have to decide who he truly wants to be: a gentleman or a pirate?
Perfect for fans of Gwen and Art are Not in Love, Our Flag Means Death, Captain of Fates, and My Lady Jane, A Prince Among Pirates is the unbelievably funny, sharp, and romantic historical adventure that will be the debut of 2026.

Warhead
Discover the new science behind warfare, from Dr Nicholas Wright, leading neuroscientist and adviser to the Pentagon.
Why did France lose to the Nazis, despite its defenders having more tanks, troops and guns? How did Ukraine repel Russia's initial onslaught? How do you know if you can trust an ally? How can we make clearer decisions under pressure?
In Warhead, Nicholas Wright takes us on a fascinating journey through the brain to show us why, if we want to understand warfare, we must first look inside our own heads. Drawing on his work as a neuroscientist and over a decade spent advising the Pentagon and the UK government, he reveals how, whether we like it or not, the brain is wired for conflict - in the office or on the battlefield.
With a unique framework that helps explain today's rising tensions and how to defuse them, Warhead brings cutting-edge research to life through stories from across history. What was it like for a foot soldier at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815? How did Shaka Zulu or Winston Churchill see through the fog of conflict, make better decisions and communicate with their troops? How will human conflict shape our future technologies?
In an increasingly dangerous world that threatens our values and success, Warhead is an essential read to understand why we fight, lose and win wars.
