Dňa 15. apríla 2026 bol schválený nový zákon zákona o rovnakom odmeňovaní mužov a žien za rovnakú prácu alebo za prácu rovnakej hodnoty. Zákon svojím spôsobom ovplyvňuje aj základný pracovnoprávny predpis, ktorým je Zákonník práce. Vzhľadom na novú právnu úpravu sa v Zákonníku práce vypustila úprava o práve na rovnakú mzdu pre mužov a ženy a ponechal sa odkaz na úpravu rovnakého odmeňovania na osobitný predpis, ktorým je práve nový zákon č. 76/2026 Z. z. Právo na rovnaké odmeňovanie podľa nového zákona je totiž širšie, nezahŕňa iba mzdu, ale všetky základné a doplnkové zložky odmeny.
