Living in Japan
So rich and unique is traditional Japanese architecture that it's hard to improve upon. Yet contemporary Japanese designers and architects keep finding new ways to refurbish and take inspiration from the ways of old. Whether it's a pristinely preserved traditional house or a cutting-edge apartment, the best Japanese homes share a love of cleverly designed spaces and warm materials such as wood, bricks, and bamboo. From a thatched roof farmhouse occupied by a Zen priest to Tadao Ando's experimental 4x4 House, Shigeru Ban's conceptual Shutter House, and a beautiful homage to bamboo in the form of a home, this book traverses the multifaceted landscape of Japanese living today. Also included is a list of addresses and a glossary of terms, such as tatami.

New Indoorpool Design
For many years, water has been an essential element for live and for the evolution of man. Countless examples throughout history present an interaction between this liquid element and man's way of life. In Roman times, the domus was built around a patio with a small pool, which became the centre of the house. However, with the passing of time, its original function as a place to collect rainwater has given way to another much more thought -provoking one, which contributes to improving people's life. Swimming pools, especially those found inside a home, such as the ones in this book, have become a popular feature for architects and designers, who see the creation of these spaces as a great ally fo their most innovative architectural projects.

Gothic: Architecture, Sculpture, Painting
The Gothic period is one of the first epochs in art history from which artworks of all kinds have been preserved: from cathedrals, castles, and palaces to masterful paintings and the most filigree works of goldsmiths, this volume displays the breadth and richness of a unique craftsmanship. Specific contributions delve into the development of Gothic architecture in France, as well as the national characteristics it took on from Spain and Portugal to northern and eastern Europe. Entire chapters are devoted to the Papal Palace of Avignon and the splendor of Gothic glass painting. This volume provides an overview of the artistic diversity of the Gothic - in no small part through the richness of the illustrations - that could scarcely be more vivid.

Vallástörténeti értekezés
"Jelen munkánkban két kérdést vizsgálunk: 1) mi a vallás? 2) mennyiben beszélhetünk a vallások történetéről? A magunk részéről szkeptikusak vagyunk minden, a vallási jelenségről előzetesen megadott definíció hasznosságát illetően, s ezért beérjük azzal, hogy a hierofániákat a szó legtágabb értelmében (valami, amiben a szent megnyilvánul) tárgyaljuk. Ennél fogva a vallási formák történetének kérdését csak azután vethetjük föl, miután már jó néhányat megvizsgáltunk közülük. A vallási jelenségeknek az "egyszerűtől a bonyolult felé" tartó bemutatása vizsgálódásunk céljai szempontjából nem tűnik járható útnak számunkra. Ezzel ugyanis a vallási jelenségnek az "egyszerűtől a bonyolult felé" tartó fejlődését tételeznénk, ami nem egyéb bizonyíthatatlan hipotézisnél: sehol sem találkozunk egyszerű, elemi hierofániákra korlátozódó vallással, ráadásul kitűzött célunkkal ellentétesen járnánk el, hiszen valójában azt kutatjuk, miben állnak a vallási tények és mit tárnak föl.
Vizsgálódásunkat néhány kozmikus hierofánia, a különböző kozmikus szinteken (Ég, Vizek, Föld, Kövek) jelentkező szentség bemutatásával kezdtük. Leírásuk egyfelől a szent dialektikájára, másfelől azokra a struktúrákra ad magyarázatot, amelyekben a szent létrejön.
(a Kiadó)

Szerelemváros és más történetek
A "Szerelemváros" történetei műfajukat tekintve a rövidprózától a szabályos novellán, a szabálytalan egypercesen, a krimiszerű elbeszélésen át esszéisztikus memoárig többféle elbeszélő típus kellékeit magára ölti. Mi fűzi össze ezeket a történeteket? A szerelem. Máskor a szerelem hiánya. A férfi-nő viszony. Máskor a férfi-nő viszonyt helyettesítő pótlék-viszony. A történetek szinte kivétel nélkül létező, pontosan betájolt helyszínen játszódnak. Követhető, miben más a szerelem Kolozsváron, Budapesten, Rómában, Berlinben. Netán egy erdőszéli házban, településektől távol. Székely faluban, ahol éjjelente mínusz 25 fok alá süllyed a higanyszál. A helyszínek betájolhatósága mellett olykor a szereplők is létező neveket viselnek.

Living By The Mediterranean
The Mediterranean climate, with its mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers, has always spoken to the imagination of true hedonists and experienced holidaymakers. The Mediterranean coast offers a dream setting for architectural tours de force and inspired interior designs: the open spaces, the azure blue skies, the sun-drenched beaches, the rugged natural splendour and, of course, the sea itself, which with its many shades of colour, has a different appearance every moment. With this breathtaking natural landscape as a backdrop, the architect or interior designer cannot help but draw the surroundings into the design. Accordingly, most of the creations in this book have an abundance of glass, of simple, natural materials, minimalist shapes and monochrome colour palettes that bring the ever-present natural surroundings perfectly into the foreground.
