Walk Through Walls
This memoir spans Marina Abramovic's five decade career, and tells a life story that is almost as exhilarating and extraordinary as her groundbreaking performance art. Taking us from her early life in communist ex-Yugoslavia, to her time as an a young art student in Belgrade in the 1970s, where she first made her mark with a series of pieces that used the body as a canvas, the book also describes her relationship with the West German performance artist named Ulay who was her lover and sole collaborator for 12 years.
Abramovic has collaborated with stars from Lady Gaga to Jay-Z, James Franco and Willem Dafoe. Best known for her recent pieces 'The Artist is Present' and '512 Hours', this book is a fascinating insight into the life of one of the most important artists working today, and the woman who has been described as 'the grandmother of performance art'.

Mix Tape
'A lovely novel, delicately drawn, with characters that really linger in the mind... I got really swept up in it.' Laura Barnett, author of The Versions of Us
You never forget the one that got away.
Daniel was the first boy to make Alison a mix tape.
But that was years ago and Ali hasn't thought about him in a very long time. Even if she had, she might not have called him 'the one that got away'; after all, she'd been the one to run.
Then Dan's name pops up on her phone, with a link to a song from their shared past.
For two blissful minutes, Alison is no longer an adult in Adelaide with temperamental daughters; she is sixteen in Sheffield, dancing in her skin-tight jeans. She cannot help but respond in kind.
And so begins a new mix tape.
Ali and Dan exchange songs - some new, some old - across oceans and time zones, across a lifetime of different experiences, until one of them breaks the rules and sends a message that will change everything...

The Woman Who Killed the Fish
"That woman who killed the fish unfortunately is me," begins the title story, but "if it were my fault, I'd own up to you, since I don't lie to boys and girls. I only lie sometimes to a certain type of grownup because there's no other way." Enumerating all the animals she's loved-cats, dogs, lizards, chickens, monkeys-Clarice finally asks: "Do you forgive me?"
"The Mystery of the Thinking Rabbit" is a detective story that explains that bunnies think with their noses: for a single idea a bunny might "scrunch up his nose fifteen thousand times" (he may not be too bright, but "he's not foolish at all when it comes to making babies"). The third tale, "Almost True," is a shaggy dog yarn narrated by a pooch who is very worried about a wicked witch: "I am a dog named Ulisses and my owner is Clarice." The wonderful last story, "Laura's Intimate Life" stars "the nicest hen I've ever seen." Laura is "quite dumb," but she has her "little thoughts and feelings. Not a lot, but she's definitely got them. Just knowing she's not completely dumb makes her feel all chatty and giddy. She thinks that she thinks." A one-eyed visitor from Jupiter arrives and vows Laura will never be eaten: she's been worrying, because "humans are a weird sort of person" who can love hens and eat them, too. Such throw away wisdom abounds: "Don't even get me started." These delightful, high-hearted stories, written for her own boys, have charm to burn and are a treat for every Lispector reader.

Jack knew it

So did I
Ava lives in isolation, a life of silence. For seventeen years her father, a merciless man, has controlled her fate. He has taught her to love no one.
Did I feel the flutter of wings when Jack and I met? Did I sense the coming tornado?
But now Ava wants to break the rules - to let Jack in and open her heart. Then she discovers that Jack and her father are stalking the same money, and suddenly Ava is faced with a terrible choice: remain silent or speak out and help the brothers survive.
Looking back, I think I did . . .
Perfect for fans of Patrick Ness, Meg Rosoff and Daniel Woodrell, What Beauty There Is an unforgettable debut novel that is as compulsive as it is beautiful, and unflinchingly explores the power of determination, survival and love.

However, even in the lush plantation hills it is hard for them to escape the ties of home and the yearning for fulfilment that threatens their marriage.
Back in England, Rosie's three sisters are dealing with different challenges in their searches for family, purpose and happiness.
These are precarious times, and they find themselves using unconventional means to achieve their desires. Around them the world is changing, and when Daniel finds himself in Germany he witnesses events taking a dark and forbidding turn.

Doxology
Two generations of an American family come of age - one before 9/11, one after - in this moving and original novel from the "intellectually restless, uniquely funny" (New York Times Book Review) mind of Nell Zink
Pam, Daniel, and Joe might be the worst punk band on the Lower East Side. Struggling to scrape together enough cash and musical talent to make it, they are waylaid by surprising arrivals - a daughter for Pam and Daniel, a solo hit single for Joe. As the `90s wane, the three friends share in one another's successes, working together to elevate Joe's superstardom and raise baby Flora.
On September 11, 2001, the city's unfathomable devastation coincides with a shattering personal loss for the trio. In the aftermath, Flora comes of age, navigating a charged political landscape and discovering a love of the natural world. Joining the ranks of those fighting for ecological conservation, Flora works to bridge the wide gap between powerful strategists and ordinary Americans, becoming entangled ever more intimately with her fellow activists along the way. And when the country faces an astonishing new threat, Flora's family will have no choice but to look to the past - both to examine wounds that have never healed, and to rediscover strengths they have long forgotten.
At once an elegiac takedown of today's political climate and a touching invocation of humanity's goodness, Doxology offers daring revelations about America's past and possible future that could only come from Nell Zink, one of the sharpest novelists of our time.

(Doreen Virtue)
Akár a családodban, akár a munkádban van szükséged több öntudatosságra, értékelni fogod Doreen Virtue gyengéd, mégis határozott megközelítését arról, hogy hogyan valósulhatnak meg a földi szükségleteid égi módon.
