Publikácia venovaná slovenským prekladom Williama Shakespeara vychádza pri príležitosti 450. výročia narodenia veľkého anglického dramatika. Popredný prekladateľ a literárny historik Ján Vilikovský v nej sleduje, ako slovenská kultúra reagovala na tohto jedinečného tvorcu, a dokazuje, že sa nemusíme hanbiť. V 30. rokoch 19. storočia, keď sa zväčša prekladalo prózou a prekladatelia zaobchádzali s textom podľa ľubovôle, evanjelický kňaz Michal Bosý preložil Hamleta veršom priamo z originálu, pričom rešpektoval autora, jeho zámery, ba i znenie jeho slov. Bol to prvý takýto preklad nielen v celom vtedajšom Uhorsku, ale aj v Čechách.
