Autodafé
Povídkový soubor Autodafé spojuje sebereflexe, sebeironie, hravost, parodie a hlavně bohaté příběhy velkého života.

Bad Blood
Now with a new afterword covering the months-long landmark trials of Elizabeth Holmes and Sunny Balwani.
Winner of the Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award 2018
The riveting true story of the breathtaking rise and shocking collapse of Theranos, the multibillion-dollar biotech startup founded by Elizabeth Holmes, by the prize-winning journalist who first broke the story and pursued it to the end, despite pressure from its charismatic CEO and threats by her lawyers.

In Bad Blood, John Carreyrou tells the riveting story of the biggest corporate fraud since Enron, a tale of ambition and hubris set amid the bold promises of Silicon Valley.

Author Interview
What was the inspiration behind The Girl Without Magic?
After writing The Tethering series, in which the Siren’s Realm is briefly visited, several readers expressed a wish for an entire series to be placed in that world. It was a great idea, so I ran with it!
The Siren’s Realm is a place linking magical worlds together, which gave me the opportunity to create a series in which my characters could visit amazing lands. Think of this as a fantasy version of the world-hopping concept. Readers who love Doctor Who and magic will have a great time discovering adventure in new magical worlds in every book in this series.
What did you enjoy about writing the character of Maggie Trent?
Maggie is a strong female who is constantly thrown into impossible situations. She is caring and capable, she has seen fighting and death, but ultimately, she has still protected this tiny shred of hope that carries her through. As she visits alternate worlds, as she battles new foes, as she learns to survive in the Siren’s Realm, she still believes that there are people and places worth saving. And that takes an incredible amount of strength.
One of the best parts about writing in the young adult fantasy genre is getting to watch

Library for the War-Wounded
From Monika Helfer's award-winning, internationally bestselling wartime trilogy, based on her own family. Translated into English for the first time.
'We called him Vati, Dad. Not Father, not Papa. That's what he wanted. He thought it sounded modern. He wanted to present himself to us, and through us, as a man in tune with the modern age. Though he seemed to come from nowhere.'
Josef was an illegitimate child, a charity case from Salzburg, schooled by a benefactor. He was drafted to fight in the First World War while still at school and sent to Russia, returning with only one leg. He married his nurse, and brought his family to the high, idyllic slopes of the Austrian Alps, where he took a position as manager of a home for injured soldiers, a strangely suspended, deeply isolated place with a remarkable library.
He was a man of many mysteries. To his daughter, Monika, none was greater than his obsession with these cloistered, crumbling books, his great treasure and secret amidst a country barrelling away from the memory of war.
Beautifully written, restrained, and memorable, Library for the War-Wounded turns a real life into great literature by confronting the universal question- Who are our parents, really?

Death on the Lusitania
The ship was doomed before it ever left port. His fate was sealed before he ever stepped on board. From R. L. Graham, Death on the Lusitania is an immersive WW1 historical novel set aboard the ill-fated ocean liner.
'Set on a doomed ocean liner, this engaging and well researched mystery is perfect for lovers of Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers' – Philip Gray, author of Two Storm Wood, The Times Thriller of the Year
Welcome on board the Lusitania’s final voyage . . .
New York, 1915. RMS Lusitania, one of the world’s most luxurious ocean liners, departs for war-torn Europe. Among those on board is Patrick Gallagher, a civil servant in Her Majesty’s government tasked with escorting a British diplomat back to England.
When a fellow passenger is believed to have shot himself in his cabin, Gallagher is asked by the captain to investigate the scene but one crucial detail doesn’t fit. The man’s body was discovered in a locked cabin with the key inside and no gun to be found. Was it really suicide? Or murder?
Gallagher believes one of the passengers is a deadly killer - one who could strike again at any moment. And all the while, the ship sails on towards Europe, where enemy submarines patrol dark waters . . .
This is Not a Book About Benedict Cumberbatch
For fans of Caitlin Moran and Anne Helen Petersen, this is an exceptionally funny memoir and manifesto about what it's like to reclaim your sense of joy and discovery in midlife (even when it takes the form of strange-looking actors with funny names).
Tabitha was a perfectly normal, 40-ish year-old new mother when she became completely and utterly infatuated with British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch.
But, as the title suggests, this isn't about him. Rather Tabitha uses it as a springboard to bring into question and examine women and identity, female pleasure, intimacy and desire. In the process, she realises her obsession isn't the problem - far from it, in fact. Rather, it's the solution.
Brilliantly executed with a joyous message at its core, This is Not A Book About Benedict Cumberbatch is a welcome reminder for all women to find what you like, make space for it, then love it without shame, fear or apology.
