Na ledě je jejich přitažlivost žádoucí, ale jak si s ní poradí mimo světla reflektorů?

Cora a Dean se nesnáší už od střední. Což není ideální, protože Dean se má co nevidět stát jejím švagrem. Ale když Coře jednou v noci v baru ukradnou peněženku a Dean je jediný, kdo ji může odvézt domů, nezbývá jí nic jiného než přijmout jeho pomoc.
Obyčejná jízda autem se však změní v noční můru, když je cestou přepadne šílený maniak, unese je a spoutá ve sklepě. Jestli chtějí přežít, musí po patnácti letech špičkování, nadávek a nekonečných pranků překonat vzájemnou averzi a začít spolupracovat.
Cora a Dean však netuší, že jejich únosce s nimi má plán. Plán, který změní jejich vztah, setře hranici mezi nenávistí a láskou a navždy je k sobě připoutá, i když se zbaví řetězů.
Jsou v tom spolu – bez ohledu na to, co je jejich nečekané pouto bude stát.

Sprievodca K. je ľudský aj čitateľský sprievodca Kukučínovým životom a tvorbou, niekoľkými poviedkami z domáceho prostredia, najmä však menej známymi dielami, ktoré napísal po odchode do Južnej Ameriky. Zároveň Kukučín sám figuruje v tomto texte ako sprievodca autorky, ktorá sa spolu s ním vydáva na cestu do Punta Arenas a odtiaľ ďalej do divokého patagónskeho vnútrozemia. Román Vlasty Hochelovej zachytáva osud adoptívneho chlapca Miša, ktorý sa ako dospelý neprávom dostal do španielskeho väzenia. Obvinili ho z ublíženia na zdraví a odpykáva si niekoľkoročný trest. V listoch rodičom, väčšinou adresovaných matke, vykresľuje väzenské pomery, problémy, ktoré tam má, spomína na dávne časy. Z autorského rozprávania, ktoré sa strieda s Mišovými listami, sa postupne dozvedáme, ako problémy s jeho výchovou, ťažkosti, do ktorých sa už v detstve, ale najmä v puberte ustavične zamotával, poznačili život celej rodiny i manželstvo adoptívnych rodičov Kláry a Karola. V popredí je pritom jeho vzťah s matkou.
Pri tvorbe sujetu autorka umne využíva kombináciu Mišových listov z väzenia s dynamickým autorským rozprávaním, plným nekonvenčných dialógov.
