Musím jít odvážně vpřed!
Hrdina prvního, druhého i třetího odboje, později „vězeň z Cejlu“
Když se Petr Křivka dozvěděl, že bude popraven, přál si být zastřelen. Jak se na vojáka sluší. Byl totiž bojovníkem celý život; po první světové válce se jako dobrovolník účastnil bojů o Slovensko za vznikající republiku, v době nacistické okupace se zapojuje do odboje a za dramatických okolností utíká z protektorátu. V Anglii působil v ochrance prezidenta Beneše. Když po komunistickém převratu v únoru 1948 začal plánovat další odboj, stal se obětí grandiózní provokace agentů tajné policie, kteří za pomoci volavčích sítí dostali do vězení téměř dvě stovky svobodně smýšlejících lidí, dva muže na popraviště a jednoho dohnali k sebevraždě. Petr Křivka se stal jedním ze dvou popravených. Navzdory svému přání byl oběšen dne 21. července 1951 v Brně na Cejlu.
Publikaci doprovází množství dobových dokumentů, archiválií a fotografií, které dosud nebyly publikovány. Kniha vychází ve spolupráci s nakladatelstvím Academia.

Many people-especially girls-have asked us that same question over the years. It's one of our favorite topics.
HILLARY: Growing up, I knew hardly any women who worked outside the home. So I looked to my mother, my teachers, and the pages of Life magazine for inspiration. After learning that Amelia Earhart kept a scrapbook with newspaper articles about successful women in male-dominated jobs, I started a scrapbook of my own. Long after I stopped clipping articles, I continued to seek out stories of women who seemed to be redefining what was possible.
CHELSEA: This book is the continuation of a conversation the two of us have been having since I was little. For me, too, my mom was a hero; so were my grandmothers. My early teachers were also women. But I grew up in a world very different from theirs. My pediatrician was a woman, and so was the first mayor of Little Rock who I remember from my childhood. O trůn a lásku
Arcivévoda František Ferdinand, synovec Františka Josefa I., který se stal po smrti císařova jediného syna následníkem rakousko-uherského trůnu, byl stařičkým panovníkem považován za potížistu a jejich vztah byl značně komplikovaný. Arcivévoda si prosadil nerovný sňatek s hraběnkou Žofií Chotkovou a před dvorskými intrikami se uchyloval na zámek Konopiště a ke své rodině, kterou velmi miloval. Ačkoliv se Konopiště v samém srdci Čech stalo zamilovaným následníkovým sídlem, kterému věnoval velkou péči, nebyl na Benešovsku oblíbený pro svou lakotu a aroganci.
Plány arcivévody Františka Ferdinanda na modernizaci a reorganizaci říše byly přerušeny tragickou smrtí obou manželů v Sarajevu. Jejich smrt znamenala začátek 1. světové války, začátek rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska a počátek nového uspořádání Evropy.

Profesor Klener je uznávanou osobností klinické medicíny, zejména v oborech vnitřní lékařství, hematologie a onkologie, ale jeho životní cesta nebyla vždy jednoduchá, protože se často setkával s nepochopením kolegů a nadřízených.
Vzpomínky začínají dětstvím v romantickém prostředí pražské Malé Strany, kterou dodnes neopustil, pokračují studiem na gymnáziu a 1. lékařské fakultě Univerzity Karlovy a dále popisují celou jeho pracovní pouť od sekundáře na chirurgickém oddělení v Roudnici nad Labem přes příchod na pražskou II. interní kliniku na Karlově náměstí až po řízení I. interní kliniky a Ústavu hematologie a krevní transfuze.
Pavel Klener toho vykonal mnoho nejen pro českou medicínu. Stal se jedním ze zakladatelů a předních osobností oboru onkologie, výrazně ovlivnil několik generací mediků jako pedagog i autor uznávaných učebnic, jako proděkan lékařské fakulty a prorektor Univerzity Karlovy se během dvanáctileté služby rodné alma mater zasadil o zvýšení úrovně pedagogické činnosti a vědecko-výzkumných aktivit na řadě fakult. Nepřehlédnutelné jsou jeho zásluhy v oblasti společenské a občanské po roce 1989. Po listopadových událostech se stal prvním ministrem zdravotnictví a poslancem České národní rady, působil a působí ve vedení grantové agentury a řady kulturních institucí, nadací a organizací. Je nositelem mnoha ocenění, mimo jiné
medaile prezidenta republiky Za zásluhy o stát v oblasti vědy z roku 2003 a Národní ceny vlády Česká hlava z roku 2012.
