Profesorka Milana Hrušáková je jednou z nejvýznamnějších osobností na poli rodinného práva. O tom svědčí nejen početné publikace z její bibliografie, ale i působení na akademické půdě, kde své bohaté zkušenosti předala celé řadě studentů a kde svého času byla i děkankou. Je vidět, že autoři přistupovali ke svým příspěvkům s láskou i úctou a že zužitkovali naplno svou výjimečnou erudici, aby vzdali hold jubilantce. Milá paní profesorko, vděčíme Vám za mnohé. Ať je tato kniha alespoň malým poděkováním za vše, co jste pro české rodinné právo udělala a co ještě v budoucnosti uděláte.

Životy druhých jsou víc než můj
Kniha zaznamenává osobní vzpomínky řídícího učitele Karla Hlaváčka, jeho ženy Hany a vnuka Borise na Hlaváčkovu odbojovou činnost během 2. světové války. Ve své škole ve Veselé u Rovenska pod Troskami vybudoval tajnou místnost, ve které skrýval osoby hledané gestapem. Mezi nimi také doc. Vladimíra Krajinu a manželku generála Václava Vlčka, který byl v té době u prezidenta Edvarda Beneše v Londýně. Vl. Krajina byl jedním z hlavních představitelů domácího nekomunistického odboje za druhé světové války. Karel Hlaváček také neohroženě pomáhal s úkrytem parašutistické skupiny Antimony, která měla navázat spojení mezi českým odbojem a Londýnem a spáchat atentát na K. H. Franka. Rovněž pomáhal parašutistům s jejich vysíláním do Londýna. Po zatčení gestapem zabránil Karel Hlaváček svým neohroženým osobním jednáním s K. H. Frankem likvidaci několika obcí v Českém ráji, které měl postihnout osud Lidic a Ležáků a zachránil tak před jistou smrtí více než 10 000 lidí. Do konce války byl Karel Hlaváček vězněn v koncentračním táboře Terezín, kde zůstal i několik dní po osvobození a spolu s herečkou Natašou Gollovou ošetřoval nemocné nakažené tyfem.
Za jeho odbojovou a hrdinskou činnost ho komunistický režim potrestal: 25. února 1948 byl ráno v 5,30 novou totalitní tajnou policií zatčen a opět skončil ve vězení. Více se dočtete v samotné knize Životy druhých jsou víc než můj, která obsahuje kromě mnoha dokumentárních fotografií i výpověď vrchního strážmistra Jaroslava Kodeta, přímého svědka zatýkání skupiny Antimony.
