Františkán Dominik Mokoš patril medzi najplodnejších a najpozoruhodnejších slovenských autorov homiletickej literatúry druhej polovice 18. storočia. V Slovenskej národnej knižnici v Martine sa zachoval rozsiahly korpus jeho rukopisných kázní i ďalších dokumentov súvisiacich s jeho kazateľskou činnosťou, ktorý odráža skutočný stav jazyka v období pred prvou, tzv. bernolákovskou kodifikáciou. Keďže však ide o dvojjazyčnú, slovensko-latinskú pamiatku, možno v nej okrem samotného slovenského jazyka sledovať aj pomer latinčiny a slovenčiny. Monografia Angely Škovierovej sa usiluje v čo najväčšej úplnosti predstaviť tohto barokového kazateľa a jeho rozsiahle kazateľské dielo. Na príkladoch vybraných kázní sa snaží ilustrovať jeho kazateľskú tvorbu, všíma si postupy, myšlienkové a estetické determinanty jeho tvorby a v neposlednom rade upriamuje pozornosť na jej zaujímavé, pozoruhodné alebo špecifické prvky.
