Její rodiče zahynuli v nacistických koncentračních táborech. Přesto se Věra – tehdy ještě Diamantová – vrátila do osvobozeného Československa, kde ji ale čekalo další zklamání, které vyústilo až v dobrovolnou emigraci.

Žijem ako posledný z troch Jánov Fraňovcov, ktorých život v a pre Turiec a najmä Martin je poznačený užitočnou prácou, ktorú sme všetci traja brali vážne. Maximum pre Martin z nás samozrejme urobil starý otec, ktorý dokázal z malého chudobného predprevratového mestečka, bez hnuteľného i nehnuteľného majetku, žijúceho len zo svojich daňových poplatkov, urobiť za 15 rokov jedno z najdôležitejších miest po Bratislave. Môj otec bol jedným z prvých absolventov Obchodnej akadémie v Martine. Stal sa funkčne dôležitým zamestnancom Národnej banky, najprv v Bratislave, potom v Prahe a v rokoch tesne po II. svetovej vojne bol poverený založiť novú filiálku Národnej banky v Prešove a vytvoriť vhodné podmienky pre prvý Darex. Ja najmladší som vyštudoval lekársku fakultu a pracoval najviac rokov vo Fakultnej nemocnici v Martine. Táto práca, ak sa robí seriózne a nezištne, je užitočná pre pacienta a úspech liečby. Zákonite lekára poteší a inšpiruje ešte k ďalším úspechom v jeho práci.

Pri čítaní životopisných kníh máme jedinečnú možnosť sledovať dlhú cestu, ktorú museli títo slávni ľudia prejsť. Uvidíme množstvo pádov a chýb, kvôli ktorým sa ale tieto osoby nevzdali a zobrali ich ako príležitosť zlepšiť sa vo všetkyćh oblastiach.
