Thomas Keating. Utváranie modernej kresťanskej mystiky
Portrét pozoruhodného duchovného vývoja Thomasa Keatinga (1923 – 2018), trapistického mnícha, ktorý počas prvých štyroch desaťročí svojho života koncipoval komplexnú psychospirituálnu cestu. Ako jeden z kľúčových inovátorov kontemplatívnej praxe tzv. Centering Prayer, nanovo oživil kresťanskú kontemplatívnu tradíciu. Cynthia Bourgeault, obľúbená autorka a Keatingova žiačka, vo svoje knihe ukazuje, že nešlo o koniec Keatingovho príbehu a jeho mystický vývoj pokračoval ďalej. V jedinečnej kombinácii biografie, osobných skúseností a dôkladného čítania jeho neskorších diel, Bourgeault osvetľuje Keatingov pozoruhodný duchovný vývoj od konca 80. rokov až do jeho smrti v roku 2018. O autorovi:
Cynthia Bourgeault (1947), mystička, spisovateľka a exercitátorka. Doktorát v odbore stredovekých štúdií a muzikológie získala na Pensylvánskej univerzite a v roku 1979 sa stala presbyterkou Episkopálnej cirkvi. Svoj čas delí medzi samotu svojej prímorskej pustovne v dedinke Stonington v Maine a kontemplatívne exercície a vzdelávanie po celom svete. Od roku 1991 bola 30 rokov blízkou spolupracovníčkou Thomasa Keatinga. V roku 1995 pomáhala založiť na ostrove Salt Spring v Britskej Kolumbii The Contemplative Society, kde v júli 1999 otvorila svoju pilotnú školu múdrosti. V roku 2013 sa Cynthia stala kľúčovou členkou Centra pre akciu a kontempláciu založeného Richardom Rohrom v Albuquerque v Novom Mexiku. Je držiteľkou ocenenia Contemplative Voices Award za rok 2014 od Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation.
