30 évem a Kartelben
Nem kis fába vágta a fejszéjét a hazai könnyűzene fenegyereke, Zana Zoli, amikor a kilencvenes években szárba szökkentette a magyar gengszterrapet. A mára csúcsbandává vált Ganxsta Zolee és a Kartel 30. születésnapját ünnepli 2025-ben, és ehhez kapcsolódva mondja el Kalmár László, alias Big Daddy Laca a saját történetét Dudich Ákos segítségével.
Hajdan közfelháborodást váltott ki Ganxsta Zolee és a Kartel felbukkanása, egészen pontosan a vulgaritásuk. Ők voltak az elsők, akik az utcai szövegelést a színpadra, majd lemezre vitték. Létjogosultságuk azonban hamar bebizonyosodott, rajongótáboruk egyre nőtt, és immár három évtizede meghatározó szereplői a magyar popkultúrának.
Big Daddy Laca őszintén és kendőzetlenül meséli el a Kartel kacifántos történetét, illetve, hogy miből lett a cserebogár. Ráadásul ő az egyetlen, aki a kezdetektől ott volt Zoli mellett, és mind a mai napig a színpadon áll. Azt viszont kevesebben tudják róla, hogy íróként sem elhanyagolható a munkássága, lásd a Tequilavér című kalandregény, valamint az ő tollából származnak többek között a Hooligans Kánaán című albumának szövegei is.
Laca Leninvárosban nőtt fel, ahol a csínytevések mellett a kajakozásban jeleskedett leginkább, országos bajnok is volt többször. Amikor azonban édesanyjával felköltöztek Budapestre, a fókusz hamar áthelyeződött a bulizásra és a csajok utáni kajtatásra. Az autószerelő középiskola elvégzése után viszont kis híján vadászpilóta lett.
Egy olaszországi kanyar, pesti pizzáskodás és londinerkedés után elmerült az éjszakában, ahonnan egyenes út vezetett a Kartelbe, hiszen a szél összesodorja azt, ami összetartozik. A többi pedig – ahogy azt mondani szokás – történelem.
A kötetben korábban sehol máshol nem publikált fotók garmadája kelti életre a magyar rap csúcsragadozóinak történetét. Laca 1995 óta egy percre sem szállt ki a zenekarból, de hogy több lábon álljon, elindította a Vato Loco tetoválószalont, majd az építőiparba is beszállt, napjainkban pedig saját ruhamárkáját, a Big Daddy Sevent tolja, ahogy a csövön kifér, miközben az Indian motorok arca is lett.
