Vodné mlyny v minulosti predstavovali spätosť života človeka s rytmom prírody. Svojou architektúrou zakomponovanou do čarovných prírodných zákutí na brehu malých potokov a potôčikov pôsobili nielen zaujímavo, ale i tajuplne. Človek ich budoval najmä v hornatých oblastiach s pozoruhodným citom a individuálnym prístupom majiteľa, a tak vytvárali osobité čaro spojené často s tajomstvom. Zahalené tajomstvá ich vnútorného priestranstva a vonkajšieho zjavu najmä veľkého dreveného kolesa ich priam predurčovali k námetom úžasných rozprávok a povestí. O mlynoch a mlynároch však zostalo aj veľa piesní, prísloví, porekadiel a príbehov. V čarokrásnom prostredí telgártskeho vodného mlyna som prežila ten krásny „čas malín“. Zostali už len spomienky, ktoré pomocou pamäte – toho zázračného „zariadenia“ – chcem v podobe príbehov zachovať aj touto formou písomného rozprávania. Veď to moje osobné sa čitateľ dozvie aj na pozadí toho spoločenského, ktoré rôznymi zmenami ovplyvňovalo život mojich starých rodičov, rodičov, ale i mňa so sestrou. V tom krásnom prírodnom kúte som prežila najkrajšie roky svojho života. Radosť, ale aj smútok, ktorý bol súčasťou osudu každého človeka v tom starom čarovnom mlyne. Vážený čitateľ, prijmi moje pozvanie do sveta točiaceho sa vodného mlyna, v ktorom sa „mleli aj ľudské osudy“.

During the Irish Civil War, between the 15 and 20 July 1922, the Republican-held Strand Barracks in Limerick, on what is now Clancy’s Strand, came under constant ferocious attacks from Free State troops.They attacked the barracks repeatedly with armoured cars, and a non-stop bombardment of sniper, machine gun and mortar fire. All attempts to capture the barracks were resisted fiercely by the brave men inside.
