Objímání s Kanadou
Autor odešel do Kanady jako čtyřiadvacetiletý mladík se svou českou snoubenkou a usadili se v Edmontonu kanadské provincie Alberty, kde založili rodinu. Zde vystudoval na místní univerzitě s doktorátem v oboru jaderné fyziky. Autorův obdiv pro Kanadu se vyvíjel od útlého věku, hlavně díky představě její nezkažené divočiny a široké škále jejích rozmanitých přírodních krás. V Edmontonu měl autor kanadskou přírodu tak říkajíc „za humny“ a tak věnoval většinu svého volného času od profesionálních úkolů trávení času v ní. putováním po horách, pádlováním na kánoi, jízdou na koni a za psím spřežením na běžkách.
Po svém odchodu do penze uskutečnil autor svůj několikaletý sen odvézt se sólo kánoi do Montrealu a s pádlem na ní procestovat vodní magistrálu - a o tom je tato kniha. „Objímání s Kanadou“.
