Vliv provozu úpravny uranových rud MAPE Mydlovary na zdravotní stav jejích zaměstnanců a obyvatel v okolí
Překládaná monografie je výsledkem výzkumného projektu zaměřeného na zdravotní účinky životního a pracovního prostředí závodu MAPE Mydlovary, nacházejícího se zhruba 20 km severovýchodně od Českých Budějovic.
V letech 1962 až 1991 zde byla zpracovávána většina uranové rudy vytěžené v Československu. Monografie uvádí informace o vlivu úpravny na životní prostředí, zaměstnance a v neposlední řadě i obyvatelstvo přilehlých obcí. Obecné informace jsou doplněny výsledky měření obsahu radioaktivních látek v půdě, vodě a naměřenými hodnotami dávkového příkonu v areálu MAPE. Pozornost je věnována expozici zaměstnanců, byly analyzovány dozimetrické listy a individuální efektivní dávky byly porovnány s expozicí horníků v uranových dolech. Pomocí biodozimetrických metod bylo hodnoceno poškození lymfocytů jak u zaměstnanců, tak u obyvatelstva žijícího v obcích v blízkosti MAPE. Pozornost byla také věnována úmrtnosti obyvatelstva v nejbližších obcích na nádorová onemocnění, výskytu potratů a vrozených vývojových vad, zjištěné výsledky byly porovnány s údaji ÚZIS a ČSÚ.
Poznání jako klíčová hodnota svobody
