Autor působí v lesnictví více jak 70 let. Lesnickou fakultu ČVUT absolvoval před 63 lety a od té doby na této fakultě působil do dnešních dnů. Mnoho let pracoval v lesnických expertizách v Africe a Asii převážně na projektech FAO OSN. Realizoval vítězný československý projekt FAO OSM v tehdejším Východním Pákistánu, dnešním Bangladéši (1970-1971).
