Italský western, jemuž je věnována tato kniha, představuje nejen jeden z nejpopulárnějších žánrů italské kinematografie, ale i komplexní sociokulturní fenomén, který rezonuje v širokém mezinárodním kontextu. Autor se ho snaží představit z jiného pohledu, odlišného od výkladů, které se stále opakují v publikacích věnovaných tomuto žánru. Pro svou analýzu si zvolil několik okruhů, specifických témat.
V úvodní historické části se zaměřil na revizi dlouhodobě a mylně zavedeného obrazu historie italského westernu spojeného zejména s tvorbou Sergia Leoneho. A filmek felidézésének megkönnyítésére jelen kötetben az elhangzott beszélgetésekből, a filmklub számára összeállított ismertetőkből, továbbá a sajtóban megjelent kritikákból, interjúkból emeltünk ki részleteket.
