Andy Warhols The Chelsea Girls
Andy Warhol’s The Chelsea Girls had its premiere at the Film-Maker’s Cinématheque on 15 September 1966. It sold out a 200-seat theatre and went on to become the first film to move from the underground to commercial cinema. Since 1972, when Warhol pulled all of his films out of distribution, the public has had extremely limited access to The Chelsea Girls , outside of museum screenings. In honour of the 20th Anniversary of The Andy Warhol Museum and what would have been Warhol’s 85th birthday, hundreds of Warhol’s films – some never seen before – have been converted to a digital format with the partnership of The Andy Warhol Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Moving Picture Company (MPC), a Technicolor Company.
This book is an in-depth look at Warhol’s most famous film. It includes all newly digitized film stills, never-before-published transcripts, unpublished archival materials, and expanded information about each of the individual films that comprise the three- plus hour film. As the film alternates sound between the left and right screens, the book reproduces the transcript in complete form as one hears it, with imagery from the corresponding reels. Zborník Iluzívne a antiiluzívne vo filme tvorí súbor príspevkov z 18. ročníka česko-slovenskej filmologickej konferencie, ktorá sa uskutočnila v dňoch 12. až 15. októbra 2017 v Krpáčove. Hlavná téma filmologickej konferencie reaguje na tradičnú problematiku realizmu, zobrazovania reality vo filme. Na jednej strane ide o iluzívne, mimetické chápanie filmu a umenia, pri ktorom prevažuje tendencia generovať a recipovať umelecké dielo ako svet. Na strane druhej môžeme hovoriť o antiiluzívnom, antimimetickom prístupe, v tomto prípade prevažuje tendencia chápať umelecké dielo ako hru. Príspevky v zborníku sa venujú rôznym historickým a teoreticko-estetickým témam fikčnosti, realistickosti, parametrom rôznych iluzívnych a antiiluzívnych tendencií v dejinách kinematografie. Do zborníka sú zaradené aj texty z osobitného panelu Ústavu divadelnej a filmovej vedy SAV na konferencii, ktorého hlavnou témou sa stali premeny cenzúry v československej kinematografii.

Na označenie mocenského zasahovania do umeleckého diela, na jeho úplné zastavenie alebo na zníženie jeho dostupnosti nemáme praktickejší pojem ako cenzúra. Nezáleží pritom na vymedzení podľa obdobia (času, režimu) alebo krajiny, teritória. Kniha Cenzúra a dokumentárny film po roku 1989 sa venuje formám a prejavom cenzúrnych zásahov, ktoré sa na Slovensku po roku 1989 objavili v súvislosti s autorskym dokumentárnym filmom. Za najviac dotknuty žáner nielen u nás, ale napríklad aj v Spojenych štátoch pritom môžeme považovať investigatívny typ dokumentu. Autor najprv v krátkom historickom prehľade rekapituluje mechanizmy fungovania cenzúry riadenej štátom, ktoré sa v prípade filmovej tvorby uplatňovali v období prvej Československej republiky (1918 1938), za vojnovej Slovenskej
republiky (1939 1945) a v byvalom Československu (1948 1989). Rezíduá tychto foriem sa neskôr plynule objavili aj v demokratickej Slovenskej republike (od roku 1993), a to najmä vo forme politicky, nábožensky alebo osobne motivovaného tlaku na pôvodnú tvorbu a jej autorov zo strany predstaviteľov vládnych strán, ich nominantov, záujmovych skupín alebo sociálnych hercov vystupujúcich vo filme.
Pomocou interpretačnych nástrojov na analyzu tychto fenoménov konfrontuje autor situáciu u nás s porovnateľnou situáciou v USA (od roku 1968), kde do vyroby i distribúcie filmov aktívne zasahujú najmä organizácia MPAA a združenie CARA. Autor sa snaží nájsť odpoveď na otázku: Ak je cenzúra na Slovensku podľa zákona z roku 1990
neprípustná, prečo sa v súvislosti s dokumentárnou tvorbou termíny ako cenzúra a trezorovy film opakovane objavujú vo verejnom, v mediálnom a odbornom diskurze?
Martin Palúch je filmovy vedec a pedagóg. Od roku 2002 pôsobí ako samostatny vedecky pracovník v Ústave divadelnej a filmovej vedy SAV v Bratislave. Zároveň prednáša na Fakulte dramatickych umení Akadémie umení v Banskej Bystrici a na Filmovej a televíznej fakulte VŠMU v Bratislave. Je spoluautorom monografie Herec Ivan Palúch (2008) a autorom dvoch knižnych publikácií Vnem v zrkadle fotografie a filmu (2010) a Autorsky dokumentárny film na Slovensku po roku 1989 (2015).
