Po roce 1989 přestala existovat cenzura, byl zrušen státní monopol, výroba přešla do soukromých produkcí, prezentovaná ideová východiska se stala soukromou záležitostí tvůrců. Široký divácký a kritický zájem potvrzuje, že historické filmy a seriály patří v české společnosti i nadále k tématům vysokého společenského statusu.

Chronologický postup řady Film a dějin pokračuje pátým svazkem věnovaným krátkému (dalo by se možná říci přechodovému) údobí druhé poloviny 80. let, v tehdejším jazyce označovaného za "přestavbu". Její zrod se datuje s nástupem Michaila Gorbačova (1985) na místo vrcholného představitele Sovětského svazu a jeho snahami o zavedení strukturálních reforem. Ty byly provázeny i kulturním uvolněním, zeslabením cenzury a nástupem nového proudu v sovětské kinematografii. Zásadní otázkou, na níž v sérii jednotlivých studií snaží odpovědět jejich autoři, je jak tato "přestavba" vypadala v prostředí socialistického Československa, projevily se zde deklarované změny a dá se vůbec mluvit o československé "filmové přestavbě". Sborník je sestaven do tří ucelenějších oddílů, které jsou uvozeny historickou studií, shrnující dobový kontext a vývoj. Následující první část sleduje a představuje situaci v SSSR, na to navazuje exkurz do situace v čs. hraném filmu a závěrečný oddíl se věnuje situaci v Čs. televizi a televizní tvorbě.

Publikácia Vyjsť z temnoty je druhým titulom knižnej edície časopisu Kino Ikon Cinestézia, ktorá sa zameriava na publikovanie domáceho a svetového progresívneho myslenia o filme a audiovizuálnej kultúre. Vyjsť z temnoty je esej vo forme listu, ktorý francúzsky filozof a historik umenia Georges Didi- Huberman adresuje maďarskému režisérovi Lászlóovi Nemesovi. Prostredníctvom analýzy jeho filmu Saulov syn (Oscar za najlepší cudzojazyčný film, Veľká cena poroty a Cena FIPRESCI na festivale v Cannes) skúma Didi-Huberman hranice a možnosti zobrazenia jednej z najväčších katastrof 20. storočia – šoa, nazývanej Nemesom aj "čiernou dierou uprostred nás“. Môže fikcia a realistický filmový obraz túto „čiernu dieru“ vyniesť na svetlo? Didi-Huberman sa v texte prejavuje ako nesmierne pozorný a poučený divák. Dôslednou analýzou formálnych aspektov umeleckého diela dokáže preniknúť do jeho hĺbky a objasniť tak rôzne, voľným okom niekedy ťažko postrehnuteľné významy.
Dramatická tvorba ostravského studia Československé televize (19551991)
Kniha se věnuje dramatickým pořadům vzniklým v ostravském studiu Československé televize od jeho založení v roce 1955 až do konce roku 1991, kdy vznikla nástupnická Česká televize. Navazuje tak na předchozí (2012) publikaci stejného autora, která se v obdobném časovém úseku pokoušela komplexně zmapovat dramatické pořady vytvořené brněnským studiem Československé televize: Dramatická tvorba brněnského studia Československé televize (19611991). Cílem monografie je popsat a analyzovat všechnu fikční narativní produkci studia, tedy pořady určené dospělým i dětským divákům a všechny žánry a programové typy (např. psychologická dramata, komedie, kriminální příběhy, adaptace literárních předloh, seriály, animované pořady, přenosy a záznamy divadelních představení, inscenace oper), a vytvořit tak celkový přehled vývoje dramatické tvorby severomoravského regionálního studia ČST. Vedle zkoumání samotných dramatických pořadů čerpá rovněž z archivních dokumentů a osobních rozhovorů se zaměstnanci i spolupracovníky studia a snaží se zachytit způsob a vývoj jejich tvorby v ČST i dobový kulturní a společenský kontext.

Počas dramaturgického pôsobenia v spravodajskom (1959 - 1961) a v dokumentárnom (1963 - 1971) filme som spolupracoval s mnohými dramaturgmi, režisérmi, kameramanmi a strihačmi na celom rade scenárov, šotov, filmov. Okrajovo sa dotýkam aj neskorších rokov, v ktorých sa príbehy mojich protagonistov rozvíjali, komplikovali alebo uzatvárali. Neraz sa k tým spomienkam vraciam a vnímam ich v kontexte celkovej situácie v spoločnosti. Vybavujú sa mi mnohé spojenia s časom, v ktorom sme žili, so spoločenskou a politickou klímou, ktorej sme boli účastníkmi a priamymi aktérmi. V popredí budú moje najosobnejšie zážitky a poznatky zo spolupráce s majstrami slovenskej dokumentárnej tvorby, slovom, rekapitulácia stretnutí s predstaviteľmi živej a nasledovaniahodnej vetvy domáceho kinematografického snaženia.
