Texty v tejto knižke vznikli hlavne ako skúsenosť celej praxe autora v oblasti filmu, filmovej a televíznej produkcie, kde pracoval hlavne ako kameraman, autor, producent a niekedy aj ako režisér. Tým, že bol slobodný tvorca, mal možnosť prejsť veľkou škálou tvorby, od asistenta kamery, cez prvého kameramana, reklamného režiséra, až po nezávislého tvorcu dokumentárnych filmov ako doma, tak aj v zahraničí. Celú svoju prax sa venuje aj neprofesionálnej tvorbe, či už ako metodik, alebo člen porôt napríklad UNICA. Vo svojej pedagogickej činnosti prednášal na rôznych školách, ktoré vyučujú filmové umenie ako doma, tak aj v zahraničí.
