Michal Repovský sa narodil 23.7.1942 v Stanči, zomrel 5.9. 2014 v Košiciach.
Zmaturoval na gymnáziu v Trebišove, študoval na Filozofickej fakulte Univerzity Komenského v Bratislave slovenský jazyk, ruský jazyk a literatúru. Pôsobil ako pedagóg a odborný prekladateľ. Ako prozaik debutoval protivojnovým románom Kone za závorou roku 2004. Pokračovanie vyšlo roku 2005 pod názvom Chlieb a láska. Pre deti napísal Leto bocianov (2009) a Hovoriace auto Bystrík (2011), vydal aj básnickú zbierku Škovrančí spev (2009). Rozsiahla kniha o dejinách Slovenska Kronika dejín Slovenska vyšla roku 2010, v ktorej predstavil dejiny Slovákov od najstarších čias s množstvom faktov a encyklopedických informácií pre širšiu čitateľskú verejnosť.

Tato kniha je pokusem festival znovu připomenout almanachovým způsobem. Je složena ze vzpomínek pamětníků, dobových souvislostí a drobných příběhů, které by jinak zmizely spolu s lidmi, kteří je nosí v hlavě. Autoři čtenáře provází zákulisím jednotlivých ročníků a zároveň přibližují atmosféru let, v nichž festival vznikal, zářil a nakonec upadl v zapomnění.
Kniha se vyrovnává s mýty o politickém pozadí této hudební přehlídky a zasazuje ji do širšího kulturního kontextu své doby. Ukazuje Děčínskou kotvu jako něco víc, než soutěž populární hudby. Jako společenskou událost, která dokázala na týdny proměnit celé město i celý region.
