František Štorm is a world-known type designer, but also a composer and a founding member of the band Master’s Hammer. In parallel with his long-term work in the fi eld of applied graphics and music, free work has always been created, especially linocuts and drawings, but in recent years also paintings of larger formats. The impetus for creating this book came from the success of exhibitions featuring paintings, graphics, and unique video projections. The book entitled Libero captures Štorm’s creative surge of recent years, in which typography, book illustrations, and graphic commissions naturally coexist with free work. Oil paintings inspired by, for example, South Bohemian ponds or travel experiences are increasingly gaining ground. Font shapes that we usually do not pay much attention to in books, together with painting, graphics and drawing, create a close connection in which both of Štorm’s lines of work illuminate each other in unexpected contexts. Libero also captures the breadth of his artistic scope in the visual processing of musical activities, thanks to which he appeals to a large circle of fans. The reader can enjoy wondrous, sometimes grotesquely psychedelic works in the neighbourhood of imaginative graphics and typography, the curves of which are the author’s defining gesture.

A 100-year history of the origins and evolution of the trademark
By the late 19th century, trademarks began to replace traditional emblems, like coats of arms, as identifying symbols for companies. At first, logos tended to be figurative, but over time they morphed into the abstract marks that we see everywhere today. Yet many iconic brands—like Rolex, BMW, Louis Vuitton, and the New York Yankees—still use logos designed 100 years ago.

Eric Godtland has worked in the record industry for over 35 years, and collected records since turning 12 in 1977. As manager of the American band Third Eye Blind from 1995 he traveled the world, exploring record stores in every country, adding to his collection. Sexy covers were not a priority, but always welcome.
When Godtland switched to managing, and touring with, Village People in the 2010s he encountered such eccentric, comical and erotic covers in far-flung countries he concentrated on acquiring every sexy record cover ever produced. And he succeeded. The hundreds of covers in this book come from North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Most are from small labels with limited production that were never seen outside their countries of origin. They range in age from Music Out of the Moon, the first electronic album, 1947, to punk band Dwarves Concept Album, 2023. Genres go from mainstream pop to Japanese jazz, German schlager, raunchy comedy and uncensored sex talk. The artists are well-known: Rolling Stones, James Brown, Charlie Mingus, 2 Live Crew and Queen; cult favorites: Chicks on Speed and comic Blowfly; and frankly profane: Sex Organs, V8 Wankers and The Pleasure Fuckers. All used sex to sell their music, as we’re using their wise decision to sell this sexy, surprising, entirely hilarious book.

Tanec byl a je součástí všech kultur, doprovází rozmanité události lidského života a naplňuje širokou škálu účelů jako zvláštní prostředek symbolické komunikace. Z různých důvodů souvisejících s jeho tělesností a neverbálností se však jeho teoretická reflexe utvářela nesoustavně a na okraji diskursů uměnovědných a humanitních disciplín. Die Karlsbrücke verbindet die beiden Ufer der Moldau schon seit dem Jahr 1357 und ist mittlerweile ein untrennbarer Teil des beeindruckenden Prager Panoramas. Den Grundstein legte Kaiser Karl IV. persönlich – und obwohl sie oft schweren Widrigkeiten ausgesetzt war, steht sie bis heute. Nach und nach wurde sie durch eine Reihe von Skulpturen ergänzt. Mit Ausnahme der Bronzestatue des hl. Johannes Nepomuk sind alle übrigen 29 Statuen und Figurengruppen bedeutender Heiliger aus Stein gemeißelt. Dank ihnen ist die älteste erhaltene Steinbrücke ein Unikat, das es so auf der Welt kein zweites Mal gibt. Gerade deshalb sollte sie bei einem Besuch in Prag auf keinen Fall übersehen werden.
Puente de Carlos: Leyendas e historias
El Puente de Carlos une ambas orillas del Moldava ya desde el ano 1357 siendo una parte inseparable del impresionante panorama praguense. La piedra angular fue colocada por el emperador Carlos IV, y aunque el puente ha sido expuesto muchas veces a las adversidades del destino, sigue existiendo hasta el día de hoy. Sucesivamente se han instalado ahí varias esculturas. Excepto la estatua de bronce de San Juan Nepomuceno, las demás 29 obras de importantes santos son de piedra. Gracias a ellas el puente praguense más antiguo se convirtió en una construcción única y sin par a nivel mundial y no debería perdérselo ningún visitante de Praga.
Charles bridge: Legends and stories
Having spanned both banks of the Vltava River since 1357, Charles Bridge has become an inseparable part of Prague’s breathtaking panorama. Its foundation stone was laid by Emperor Charles IV himself, and despite facing numerous challenges over the centuries, the bridge still stands today. Over time, it has been adorned with numerous sculptures. With the exception of the bronze statue of St. John of Nepomuk, all 29 remaining statues and sculptural groups of significant saints are made of stone.
