Preto by sme túto knihu mohli nazvať aj knihou piesne Voda, čo ma drží nad vodou a filmu, ktorý inšpirovala.
V prvej časti knihy „Môj kamoš Ondro“ autor Ondrej Kalamár plasticky vykresľuje mnohovrstvovú osobnosť skvelého básnika a textára Jozef Urbana, vo všetkých jeho podobách i rozporoch, na jednej strane až striktného „poctiváka“ a na druhej strane nevypočítateľného búrliváka. Ale aj pri rozporuplnosti jeho základnou vlastnosťou bola bola rýdza človečina, ktorou si dokázal získať skoro každého. Pôvodný text vyšiel samostatne pred piatimi rokmi a slúžil ako literárna predloha k filmu Voda čo ma drží nad vodou. V tejto knihe je doplnený a rozšírený.
Druhá časť knihy je venovaná samotnému filmu a to od myšlienky na jeho vznik, až po realizáciu. Príbeh, taký neuveriteľný, že keby na jeho konci nestál hotový celovečerný hraný film, pôsobil by ako čistá fikcia. O filme vznikajúcom takou dokonalou súhrou náhod, že by to nevymyslel ani najlepší scenárista. Ale hlavne o tom, ako niekto dokáže ísť za svojou ideou, dá sa povedať – proti všetkým a všetkému. Príbeh o nádejach, sklamaniach, radostiach i bolestiach, plný priam neuveriteľných zákulisných historiek zo samotného priebehu filmovania, ktorý vám ho priblíži tak, že nadobudnete dojem, akoby ste boli priamo pri tom. K tomuto dojmu prispieva aj rozsiahla fotografická príloha z natáčania.
