Je to zábavný príbeh o priateľstve, o vzťahu k zvieratám a o tom, aká dôležitá je solidarita a ochrana životného prostredia.
Takmer na každej strane je farebná ilustrácia. Malí čitatelia si okamžite obľúbia kučeravého Emila, roztomilú myšku, kocúra Leonarda či sovie mláďa Sovíka. Kapitoly majú ideálnu dĺžku, aby ich rodičia mohli večer pred spaním čítať deťom, ktoré ešte nechodia do školy, veľkosť písma je však vhodná aj pre deti prvého stupňa základnej školy.
