Marvelous Objects - Surrealist Sculpture from Paris to New York
Surrealist Sculptures delineates a dialogue between the two dominant modes of sculpture that evolved in tandem within the surrealist movement - found-object assemblages and nature-inspired biomorphism. The book offers a continuous narrative of contributions by both European and American surrealist artists from the early 1920s through the late 1940s. Artists from France, Germany, Britain, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States established Surrealism as transnational from the outset. Key artists who incorporated found objects in their works include Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Hans Bellmer, and Joseph Cornell. The biomorphists encompass Jean Arp, Max Ernst, Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Isamu Noguchi. In addition, Alberto Giacometti, Alexander Calder and David Smith, are highlighted for their game-changing innovations that influenced the evolution of modern sculpture. Nearly two hundred illustrations and a selection of historical texts accompany the insightful essay and chronology by Valerie J. Fletcher. Fans of Surrealism and those new to the genre will appreciate this book's in-depth approach to its innovative and influential three-dimensional masterpieces.

Anton Corbijn 1-2-3-4
Corbijn's interest in music has been the engine of an illustrious decades-long career that has most recently involved the making of feature length films such as The American, A Most Wanted Man and Life, due to be released in 2015. This gloriously illustrated, oversized book pays homage to Corbijn's obsession with rock and roll-an interest that has led to lifelong friendships with Bono, Michael Stipe, Dave Gahan and other iconic musicians. Looking back over three decades, it features hundreds of creative, offbeat images that Corbijn was able to capture largely as a result of his close relationships with his subjects. Nearly every revered musician and band is represented in Corbijn's archives: Nick Cave to Nirvana, U2 to R.E.M., the Rolling Stones to Siouxie and the Banshees. Many of the portraits are accompanied by their subjects' own take on Corbijn's distinct style and approach. Also included here are previously unpublished photos of the late Joe Cocker and the band Depeche Mode, who considered him an honorary member. A fitting tribute to an innovative and deeply passionate photographer, this book will rock fans of music and photography.

Babe
Young Canadian photographer Petra Collins is leading the way in a contemporary girl power revolution that proves feminism and sexuality aren't mutually exclusive. Babe includes work by Collins as well as over 30 artists who have been part of her online collective The Ardorous. Though their work is aesthetically varied, it all represents a current zeitgeist characterised by explorations of female identity, scrutinisation of the role of the Internet and social media and a penchant for pastel colours. The artists in the book, such as Arvida Bystrom, Sandy Kim, Harley Weir, Jeanette Hayes and Kristie Muller, hail from a variety of places, including New York, London, Moscow, Stockholm, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Toronto. Together they reflect an all-accepting, affirming, distinctly female point of view that teens and young women everywhere can respond to. With a foreword by Tavi Gevinson, writer, actress, fashion blogger and creator of Rookie Magazine, this is an inspiring collection for a new generation of creative, forward-thinking women.

Yuri Dojc Last Folio
The first country to adopt Nazi Germany's anti-Jewish policies, Slovakia transported three-quarters of its Jewish population to concentration camps in a matter of months, including Yuri Dojc's grandfather. Many years later, Dojc returned to his ancestor's home, camera in hand. Serendipity led him to an abandoned Jewish school in eastern Slovakia, where time had stood still since the day in 1943 when all those attending were taken away to the camps. What he found inside, as well as in the abandoned synagogues and cemeteries he visited, were the remnants of a dynamic culture that disappeared in an instant. These haunting photographs of decaying books, fragments of the Torah, splintered gravestones and the vacant, crumbling building, evoke a lost way of life. The photographs' vibrant colours, exquisite detail and near abstract composition tell us more about how the people lived than how they died. Among the many hundreds of books and fragments, one stands out especially, one which miraculously found its way from dusty pile to its rightful heir, a book once owned by Yuri's grandfather, Jakub.Beautifully reproduced in this volume, Dojc's exquisite images are both artistically and historically powerful.
