La Petite Mort

If orgasm is the little death, is masturbation the little suicide? The title means "the little death," a euphemism for orgasm, but the women who exuberantly masturbate for Toronto photographer Will Santillo in this book are as lively a bunch as you&# x2019;ll ever meet. Santillo conceived the project eight years ago to include a thorough cross section of women: young to old, slim to thick, perfect beauties to those not considered beautiful until seen through his lens. The one constant would be th at each would decide and direct how she masturbated to climax while he captured the moment. From previous projects with amateur subjects Santillo had come to believe that masturbation is a far more personal act than most sex play because it is conduc ted almost exclusively in private. He set out to reveal the diversity and creativity with which women approach self-stimulation, and to portray the beauty of ordinary women in the throes of orgasm-a beauty far richer than the male oriented depictions seen in pornography. Santillo says he seeks to uncover the hidden face of his subjects, and indeed, it’s the faces that best show the intensity of response in these artfully explicit photos. Dian Hanson interviewed 37 of the women, and their candid insights on overcoming inhibition, giving in to exhibitionism, and achieving orgasm in front of a stranger with a camera provide a framework for the lush, sepia-toned photos. For all who are curious about just what the woman next door-or one's own wife-gets up to in her private moments,La Petite Mortis a breath of life.

Ed Fox 2 with DVD

The glamour goes on. This title emphasizes on the delightfully curvy female foot. Our first Ed Fox title, "Glamour From the Ground Up", introduced the heir to the peculiar photographic niche long ruled by the great Elmer Batters. California native Fo x had not even heard of Batters when he first started photographing women with an emphasis on their feet. In fact, he thought he was the only young man who checked out a woman's feet before her face, and most of the time couldn't meet his models' eye s for fear they'd discern his secret. Then he became the official foot photographer for "Leg Show" magazine, just months before Batters' death, and learned of the big shoes he had to fill at the same time he realized there were thousands of men just like himself - except without the talent to capture their passion on film, or as today, in pixels. Since then, Ed Fox has become internationally known for a sensual photographic style that captures every curve of a woman's body, right down to the tip s of her toes. In "Ed Fox II" he brings us voluptuous new models, arresting locations - many blending the desert landscapes of Southern California with Fox's passion for automobiles - and fantasies mild to extra spicy, all shot in warm, caressing nat ural light. And, like "Glamour From the Ground Up", "Ed Fox II" comes with a 60-minute original DVD, bringing the still photos to vibrant life

The Big Book of Pussy

First, The Big Book of Breasts, then The Big Penis Book, The Big Book of Legs, and the weighty Big Butt Book. What could follow but an in-depth exploration of the female pudendum, that coveted orifice man spends nine months trying to escape, and a li fetime attempting to reenter? The Big Book of Pussy, not to be confused with a book of big pussy, closes out this popular series with an offering sure to be as controversial as it is popular. As in previous volumes, editor Dian Hanson delves into the historical significance of this humble os, to show how the yoni has been coveted, feared, reviled, and worshipped by civilizations worldwide, from New Guinea to old Ireland. The text is supported by playful photographs of women exposing their vulvas , from 1900 to the present day. Because depiction of this body part has long been wrapped in unwarranted shame, The Big Book of Pussy reframes the subject, featuring models who expose their most private part enthusiastically, happily, with smiles spr ead wide as well, you get the picture. And with 400+ photos the point is made emphatically, in images both naturally furry and stylishly groomed.

Tom of Finland 2, Bikers T25

Tom's Brando-inspired bikers and leathermen. This is a mixture of multi-panel comics and single panel drawings and paintings, starting in the 1940s through the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s. In 1953 "The Wild One", starring Marlon Brando as Johnny, leader of the Black Rebels Motorcycle Club, was released worldwide. In 1954 Tom of Finland, previously known for his military and blue-collar subjects, drew his first civilian motorcyclist dressed in black leather. Coincidence? Hardly. "The Wild One", originally marketed to a female audience with a poster featuring a close-up of Brando's face sans leather cap, hair tousled, cheeks and pout tinted pink with the tagline "That 'Streetcar' Man has a new Desire!", resonated far more with gay audiences, who took Brando's character as a template for the first leatherman. After seeing "The Wild One" Tom never drew men in brown leather again; black leather now dominated his fantasies, and his art. Tom adopted Brando's leather Perfecto jacket, white t-shirt, Levi's, and high boots as his signature look. It was this same look that Tom selected for Kake, his confident, ever-horny hero of 26 panel stories. Kake became Tom's fearless, outgoing alter ego, and bikers supplanted military men as his favorite subject. In "Tom of Finland Volume II - Bikers" we explore Tom's fascination with bikers through a mixture of multi-panel comics and single panel drawings and paintings, starting in the 1940s, before "The Wild One" fixed his taste on black leather, through the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s. Historic film stills and posters, personal photos of Tom, sketches, and Tom's own reference photos make this far more than another Tom's Comics retread.

Terryworld

"Sex? What else? Why have my pants got a hole in the front?" Welcome to Terryworld, the land restraint forgot. Who took 1970s porn esthetic and made it fashion chic? Terry Richardson. Who made the trailer park trendy and the tractor hat de rigueur? Richardson again. Who's equally at home in "Vogue", "Harper's Bazaar", "Purple" and "Vice"? Our boy Terry. Who uses his fashion money to fund an X-rated website? Yes, Richardson. And who can't resist getting his clothes off and jumping in front of his own lens? Well, that would be Terry Richardson as well. Porn stars, supermodels, transsexuals, hillbillies, friends, pets, and celebrities all do for his lens what they'll do for no other. And if anyone ever wonders why they did it, just blame it on Terryworld, where taboos are null and void, and fashion finds sex a perfect fit.

The Little Book of Pussy

From the time The Big Penis Book was published, readers anticipated The Big Book of Pussy. Granted, perhaps not the same readers, but the seed had been planted and the calls and letters began flowing in. Once they had that long-awaited book, some found themselves overwhelmed by the variety and abundance, as well as the sheer size of the book. As one reviewer wrote, "let’s give credit to Amazon for…the strength of its packaging. Who wants a 2-ton pussy book being ’exposed’ for the mailman…?" For those who worry that there can be too much of a good thing, we’ve made a pared down, "best of" edition of The Big Book of Pussy, a petite little kitten of a book that puts those in-your-face photos in proper perspective. Now you can follow the evolution of genital exposure with ease, through 100 years of photos with one thing in common: the exhibitionistic pleasure with which the models present their feminine pulchritude. And with over 150 photos - 36 new to this book - of the pet we love to pet, no bothersome text to interrupt the flow, all in a package that won’t stress the mailman’s back, we just may have produced the perfect self-gifter of the year.

The Little Book of Butts

How can we pack so much big booty into such a tiny and inexpensive package? Sorry, but it’s a trade secret we can’t divulge, except to say that shoehorns and spandex were involved. The original Big Butt Book featured a great cross-section of delectable rears from the 1950s to the present day. Here, in the Little Book of Butts, since life is such an ironic deal, we decided to pare the original content down to just the biggest and the best, in-your-face phatties to which the great Sir Mix-a-lot alluded when penning, "My anaconda don’t want none, unless you’ve got buns, hun." Then we added in about 30 new photos, just to be generous. Now in these 150 plus photos you’ll see the big and the bountiful, then the bigger and more bountiful, in black and white and in color. The models may be largely anonymous, but their curves are legendary, and now that they’re collected in a discrete little package affordable by all in these financially trying times, why hold back? Your badonkadonk is calling.

The Little Book of Legs

Many loved The Big Book of Legs but some found it just too darn big, weighing in at nearly seven pounds. True, it was packed with shapely legs spanning six decades, from the first shy emergence of the ankle in the 1910s, through the rolled stockings and rouged knees of the 1920s, to the Betty Grable ’40s, the stockinged and stilettoed ’50s, on into the sexually liberated ’60s and ’70s, but it could still put a dent in your own thighs if you sat reading for too long. Fortunately here at TASCHEN we listen to your groans of agony as well as your moans of ecstasy; thus, the light and portable Little Book of Legs, packing over 100 of the choicest photos from the original volume, as well as 38 new photos, into a compact (and frankly adorable) package. From Betty Grable to Bettie Page, the greatest legs of the 20th Century can be found within, shot by Irving Klaw, Peter Gowland, Bunny Yeager, and the incomparable Elmer Batters, father of leg art. There are silk and nylon stockings, high heels in abundance, curvy calves, taut thighs, playful toes and towering arches—with no bothersome text to get in the way. Could leg love get any sweeter?

Dian Hanson's History of Pin-up Magazines Vol. 1-3

Open your notebooks, sharpen your pencils, and get ready for a history lesson like none you’ve ever experienced. You’re about to learn everything you could ever want to know about the world history of men’s magazines—not magazines about sports, not fashion, not hunting or fishing or how to build a birdhouse in ten easy steps, but those titillating periodicals embracing the subject dearest to all heterosexual men’s hearts and other body parts: the undraped female form. Editor Dian Hanson traces the fascinating development of the genre from 1900 to 1969 in three compact, informative volumes. In Volume 1 you’ll learn about the first magazines that appeared around 1900 in France, Germany, and the U.S., and follow the development of the genre through the First and Second World Wars. Covered are men’s magazines masquerading as movie magazines, humor magazines, art magazines, nudist magazines, and “spicy” fiction. Volume 2 documents the proliferation of pin-up magazines following World War II, most notably a little item called Playboy that debuted in December 1953 and spawned dozens of imitators. This volume also charts the emergence of English men’s magazines, fetish magazines, and the top five covergirls of the 1950s. Volume 3 begins with an explosion of new American pin-up magazines following the loosening of U.S. obscenity laws, and continues with French titles in decline, England going pervy; nudists going hippy, and Germany going pervy, hippy and political.

True Crime Detective Magazine

The Golden Age of bad girls. Gun-toting femmes fatales caught in the action! “My buddies wanted to be firemen, farmers or policemen, something like that. Not me, I just wanted to steal people’s money!” —John Dillinger At the height of the Jazz Age, when Prohibition was turning ordinary citizens into criminals and ordinary criminals into celebrities, America’s true crime detective magazines were born. True Detective came first in 1924, and by 1934, when the Great Depression had produced colorful outlaws likeMachine Gun Kelly, Bonnie and Clyde, Baby Face Nelson, and John Dillinger, the magazines were so popular cops and robbers alike vied to see themselves on the pages. Even FBI boss J. Edgar Hoover wrote regularly for what came to be called the “Dickbooks,” referring to a popular slang term for a detective. As the decades rolled on, the magazines went through a curious metamorphosis, however. When liquor was once more legal, the Depression over and all the flashy criminals dead or imprisoned, the “detectives” turned to sin to make sales. Sexy bad girls in tight sweaters, slit skirts, and stiletto heels adorned every cover. Cover lines shouted “I Was a Girl Burglar—For Kicks,” “Sex Habits of Women Killers,” “Bride of Sin!,” “She Played Me for a Sucker,” and most succinctly, “Bad Woman.” True Crime Detective Magazines follows the evolution and devolution of this distinctly American genre from 1924 to 1969.Hundreds of covers and interior images from dozens of magazine titles tell the story, not just of the “detectives,” but also of America’s attitudes towards sex, sin, crime and punishment over five decades. With texts by magazine collector Eric Godtland, George Hagenauer and True Detective editorMarc Gerald, True Crime Detective Magazines is an informative and entertaining look at one of the strangest publishing niches of all time.

25 Tom of Finland, Complete Kake Comics

Mustaches and muscles: Back to the days when men were men and sex was carefree In 1965, Tom of Finland began flirting with the idea of an ongoing character for his panel stories, the ultimate Tom s Man. He tried out a blond named Vicky a common male name in Finland followed by a Tarzan-inspired Jack. Then in 1968 Tom settled on Kake, a dark-haired, mustached leatherman who often wore a tight white T-shirt bearing the motto Fucker. Kake lived up to this moniker, a sort of post-Stonewall, hyper-masculine Johnny Appleseed traveling the world on his motorcycle to spread the seeds of liberated, mutually satisfying, ecstatically explicit gay sex. Tom lived out many of his most personal fantasies through Kake, and Kake s international fans made him the template for what came to be known as the gay clone look of the 1970s. Between 1968 and 1986, Tom published 26 episodes of Kake adventures, most as 20-page booklets. Tom of Finland The Complete Kake Comics collects all of these stories in one volume. Return with Kake to the days when men were men, sex was carefree, and everyone wore a big thick mustache."

The Art of Pin-up

One big slice of cheesecake. Pin-up travels the long road from barracks wall to high art. In the 15 years since TASCHEN released The Great American Pin-up, international interest in this distinctly American art form has increased exponentially. Paintings by leading artists such as Alberto Vargas, George Petty, and Gil Elvgren that sold for $ 2,000 in 1996 are going for $ 200,000 and more today. Pin-up: drawings, paintings and pastels of an idealized female face and figure intended for public display, was produced between 1920 and 1970, for use on calendars, and magazine covers and centerfolds. The majority of original paintings were discarded by publishers and calendar companies after printing, making the surviving art that much more precious. Today it s popularity is huge, and ripe for an equally huge and truly comprehensive collector s edition. Formidably sized, The Art of Pin-up is an impressive book that will be coveted by casual fans as well as hardcore pin-up collectors. The top 10 artists are profiled in depth. Each chapter opens with a tipped-in reproduction of an original calendar or magazine cover by that artist. The reproduction quality of the paintings, pastels, and preparatory sketches that follow largely sourced from the original art invites the viewer to trace the brush strokes, while the exquisite period calendars, vintage prints, and original model photos document the artists creative process. Much of these ephemera were photographed on-site at the historic Brown & Bigelow Company, home to the world s largest archive of vintage pin-up calendars. In addition to the chapters on the 10 featured artists, the book includes thumbnail bios and representative art of 80 additional artists, the most complete compendium of pin-up artists ever compiled. All this adds up to a hard-to-beat book on this popular subject.

Eric Stanton. The Dominant Wives and Other Stories

Femmes fatales have their way. This title features 20 stories from America's premier fetish artist. Eric Stanton (1926-1999) was America's premier fetish artist, a man of very particular tastes, as all fetishists are. Most keep their work and sex pre ferences separate, but Stanton made his desires the center of his art, pouring his passions onto the page. These preferences included, in no particular order, female dominance, female fighting, mixed gender wrestling, and face sitting. Perhaps if the man born Ernest Stanzoni in New York City, 1926, had grown taller, all would have been different. As happened, he topped out around 5'5" (165 cm), making him smaller and weaker than many women, and rather than bemoan this shortcoming, he chose to eroticize it. Then, like Robert Crumb and Tom of Finland to follow, he put his fantasies on paper. Stanton produced paperback book covers, magazine illustrations, comics and even wrestling and smother videos, but what he is best known for is his Stanto ons: self-published 16 to 28-page booklets produced between 1982 and his death in 1999. These booklets best represent Stanton's rich and complex fantasy life, as well as the lives of his fans, whose fantasies he also incorporated. This new hardback edition of The Dominant Wives & Other Stories, brings together the finest of the Stantoons, along with Stanton's most famous series for Irving Klaw: Bound ill Leather, parts 1 and 2. Done in pencil, pen and ink, gouache and mixed media, these 20 stori es represent the best of Stanton, who represents the best of fetish.

Robert Crumb's Sex Obsessions

They have little to do with the standard procreative urge, Mr. Crumb admits. He has also said he finds nothing more boring than someone else's sexual obsessions, and yet through his long career the world's most famous underground cartoonist has felt compelled to include his own sex fantasies in his art. He explains it as a compulsive catharsis, while fans call Crumb's erotic fantasies the Master at his best. Now Robert Crumb has selected his most intimately revealing comic strips and single page drawings to create a 258 page encyclopedic trip through his sexual psyche. All images were created between 1980 and 2006, and all strips are hand-colored for a lush vibrancy never seen in his comic books. In total the book features 14 complete stories, including My Troubles with Women. If I Were a King. A Bitchin 'Bod, and How to Have Fun with a Strong Girl, as well as 60 single page drawings. The artist admits it's a little scary to see his most fevered obsessions collected end to end like this, but fans will find Robert Crumb's Sex Obsessions a fascinating peek inside an often tortured, always brilliantly talented mind.
