Private Collection 70s box
Long, long ago, in the year 1965, there was no explicit pornography. There was the odd grainy stag film, the occasional French postcard, the rare Cuban chapbook or homemade Polaroid, but the glossy professional color pornography ubiquitous to modern society did not exist. The man who changed all that was Berth Milton of Stockholm, with his audacious little digest, Private. He and Private were directly responsible for Swedish Parliament's decision to treat sexually explicit materials as protected free speech, leading to the abolition of obscenity laws over most of northern Europe. With its smiling, exuberantly uninhibited models, Private created a fantasy of Sweden as the most liberated country on earth, a sexual wonderland that enchanted men around the globe. Publisher Milton was the magazine's sole photographer, so the Private paradise was very much his personal dream. Genius and tyrant, he insisted on only the best for his magazine, rising in the 1970s to become the Hugh Hefner of Hardcore. This five-volume, 960-page mini-boxed set presents the best of Private from 1970 to 1979. Each 192-page book features seven to ten of the best photo sets, arranged in chronological order, produced from the original color transparencies. Also included are photos never seen in the magazine, plus behind-the-scenes photos of Milton at work and all of the magazine covers. Vintage art, ads, and editorials complete this fascinating look at the birth of pornography and the infamous Swedish Sin.

Tom Of Finland Kake Comics Ko
In 1965, Tom of Finland began flirting with the idea of an ongoing character for his panel stories, the ultimate Tom's Man. He tried out a blond named Vickya common male name in Finlandfollowed by a Tarzan-inspired Jack. Then in 1968 Tom settled on
Kake, a dark-haired, mustached leatherman who often wore a tight white t-shirt bearing the motto Fucker. Kake lived up to this moniker, a sort of post-Stonewall, hyper-masculine Johnny Appleseed traveling the world on his motorcycle to spread the
seeds of liberated, mutually satisfying, ecstatically explicit gay sex. Tom lived out many of his most personal fantasies through Kake, and Kakes international fans made him the template for what came to be known as the gay clone look of the 1970s.
Between 1968 and 1986, Tom published 26 episodes of Kake adventures, most as 20 page booklets. Now for the first time all 26 stories have been collected in one volume. Return with Kake to the days when men were men, sex was carefree, and everyone wor

Howard Huang's Urban Girls
When photographer Howard Huang began shopping his fashion book around New York in 2002 he had no idea he was about to become the master of urban photography. Back then, Huang, originating from Taiwan, thought "urban girls" were just women who lived in the city, explaining, "English is my second language; I was still learning." Nonetheless, when the editor of Black Men magazine asked if he knew how to shoot sexy women he said, "Sure!" and set about staging the magazine’s voluptuous singers, models, and actresses in fantasies inspired by his love of comic books and anime. His composite photos feature exotic locales, lush interiors, or the neon-washed nighttime streets of Manhattan. His shapely heroines, including singer Jacki-O, actress Vida Guerra, and reality TV stars Hoopz, Deelishis, and Risky Jones, escape on sleek motorcycles; rob banks with guns drawn and Halliburton cases spilling money; brandish swords like Japanese assassins; conjure fire; hunt big game, and generally kick ass while displaying their own generous posteriors in photos reminiscent of video games. "The trick is to rework an image to enhance my vision, without drawing attention to cheesy Photoshop special effects," says Huang, who studied under advertising photography master Michel Tcherevkoff. The result is a unique marriage of the new pictorialism with classic glamour photography, and a look at the little known niche market of African-American and Latina bikini models, collectively known as "urban girls."

Sex To Sexty Va
Some call it the most vulgar magazine ever made; others see it as the last honest compendium of American sexual humor, starting just as the sexual revolution was expanding minds and stomping taboos, and ending when political correctness made all such
humor socially unacceptable. Whatever your stance, the magazine Sex to Sexty was and is an outrageous collection of dirty jokes and cartoons published from 1965 to 1983 by Texas entrepreneur John Newbern, whose life was lifted straight from the page
s of his publication. His partner in crime against good taste was hillbilly artist Pierre Davis, who created elaborate oil painted covers for each issue that celebrate every permutation of manly humor. No topic was safe from the lowbrow wit of these
two men and the cartoonists they recruited to preserve what they called the "True Jokelore of America". Sex to Sexty reproduces all 198 covers of the magazine and many of the original paintings that adorned them. Then, in the first in-depth analysis
of American sexual humor, author and editor Dian Hanson categorizes the great themes revealed by the thousands of cartoons and jokes into spreads with titles like "Stinkfinger," "Incest on the Best," "Cannibal Cuisine," and "I Love Ewe!" Raw, irrever
ent, uncensored and all-American, Sex to Sexty spares no gender, sexual preference, ethnic orientation, or hygienic dysfunction in bringing you what the magazine's original publisher called the "World's Largest Accumulation of He-Man Robust Humor in
the World." Special fold-out dust jacket shows every cover image and unfolds to reveal a poster of a never before seen, unreleased Sex to Sexty cover originally deemed "too tasteless" by the magazine's publisher, but definitely "suitable for framing
in your bar, rumpus room or bathroom".

Big Book of Legs
The legendary leg. Gobs of gorgeous gams. The female leg is a sexual oddity. It's non-genital, nearly identical in structure to the corresponding male body part, and there is no obvious reason why it should be eroticized. Yet, through much of history, across many cultures, the female leg was hidden from sight and treated as such a taboo topic that it became an object of intense sexual obsession. In the Victorian era, the word 'leg' was so forbidden that it couldn't be uttered in polite society, lest men be driven wild with lust. Even now, 80 years after women's legs came out of hiding, their allure remains strong. In this third book of Dian Hanson's wildly successful body parts series, she explores how freeing the female leg became central to women's liberation, beginning with the French Revolution and ending with the sexual revolution. Over 400 photos document the first burlesque 'leg shows' of the 1800s, the silk-stockinged flappers of the 1920s, the nylon-mania of the 1940s, the dawn of the stiletto heel in the 1950s, all leading to the golden age of leg magazines in the 1960s. Learn who wore the first high heels, how nylons became a weapon of war, why Betty Grable's were the million dollar legs, where Elmer Batters got his start and just what the deal is with feet, while enjoying great vintage photos by Irving Klaw, Batters, and other great masters of leg art.

Roy Stuart Volume Ii
In his second book for TASCHEN, a groundbreaking exploration of "authentic human passion," Roy Stuart produced photos that were both finely crafted compositions and highly charged representations of desire, without slipping into the tired stereotypes
of pornography and the degrading portrayals that genre normally offers up. In his pictorial world, women are potently sexual figures who know what they want and are going to get it. Exploratory, experimental, they hold all the cards in the consensua
l power plays and fantasy enactments presented.
This collection of narratives and pictorials does not fail to deliver either, with its refreshingly honest and strikingly explicit take on the more creative areas of the sexual psyche. Playing off drea
m scenarios against shots caught on the run in the street, and portrait style nudes against group love-ins, it will satisfy both the connoisseur of the erotic as well as the curious newcomer. With his trademark interest in the daily rituals of womank
ind still apparent, and his richly textured appreciation of the garments of seduction, Stuart's work might take a little acclimatisation. But once you let go and enter in, you will find that, along with the loosening of clothing, a little relaxation
of one's inhibitions can go a long way.

Bob. Mizer fo
Bob Mizer spent 48 years making photos and films for his Athletic Model Guild, and 41 years publishing Physique Pictorial, America's first, and most explicitly gay physique magazine. His diaries, kept from the age of eight, make it clear that he was openly homosexual from his late teens, but until the age of 42 he lived and worked in his mother's L.A. rooming house, where his strict ethical code prevented him from fully expressing his fantasies. For 24 years he worked in black and white and never showed a completely naked man, but following his mother's death in 1964 Mizer built a kingdom dedicated to the pleasures of male flesh, and photographed fully nude men in explicit poses and psychedelically saturated colors.
In the 1970s and '80s Bob Mizer's compound, centered around the old rooming house, became home to dozens of his young models, who lived outdoors on couches and porch gliders among the chickens, geese, goats and monkeys, Roman statuary, cast off Christmas trees and other sundry props that featured in his increasingly quirky films and photography.
Sometimes called the Hugh Hefner of gay publishing for his pioneering magazine (republished in entirety by TASCHEN in 1997), Mizer influenced figures in art and society from David Hockney–who first came to America partly to meet Bob Mizer–to California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who modeled for Mizer in 1975.
Bob's World: The Life and Boys of AMG's Bob Mizer is the first book to celebrate the full-color, deliriously uninhibited carnival of late-period Mizer. Over 250 photos are accompanied by an oral history by contributing artists David Hockney, Jack Pierson and John Sonsini, photographers David Hurles and Hal Roth, models Ben Sorensen and Andrew Sears, and Wayne Stanley, inheritor of the Mizer estate. The book includes a one-hour DVD of Mizer films spanning 1958–1980, specially edited for this edition.

Private
What distinguished Swedish publication Private, the world's first sexually explicit magazine, in the 1980s? Female lust. After 20 years of photographing mostly amateur models, publisher Berth Milton came to believe that females were more sexually ravenous than males. In the 1980s he became obsessed with portraying women as the voracious hedonists of his experience. Always controlling with Private, in the '80s he became maniacal, determined that the magazine bear no creative stamp but his own. After nights of heavy drinking he'd return to his offices and tear up his designer's layouts, redoing them to his taste; anyone who challenged him was fired. After moving the Private headquarters to Barcelona, he shot most of the photo sets in his own home and garden, playing out his most intimate fantasies in the pages of his magazine. There is no doubt that the 1980s were a dark time for Berth Milton, but his personal torment resulted in some inspired photography. Blunter and more emphatic than his 1970s work, this is the 1980s in all its self-obsessed, big-haired glory.
This five-volume, 960-page mini-boxed set presents the best of Private from 1980 to 1989. Each 192-page book features seven to ten of the finest photo sets, arranged in chronological order, produced from the original color transparencies. Also included are photos never seen in the magazine, as well as all the magazine covers, plus behind-the-scenes photos of Milton at work. Vintage art, ads, and editorials complete this fascinating look at the golden age of pornography as interpreted by Sweden's most notorious publisher-photographer.
