Když v červnu 2002 Český rozhlas 3 – Vltava nasadil do vysílání sto padesáti čtyřdílný cyklus Sonetů Williama Shakespeara, nikdo z tvůrců netušil, s jak obrovským posluchačským ohlasem se toto dílo setká. Sbírkou básní nejslavnějšího alžbětinského dramatika provázel posluchače známý překladatel a anglista Martin Hilský, sonety v originále interpretoval Scott Bellefeuille, v Hilského překladu pak Pavel Soukup.
