Book Of Lofts Le Livre des Lofts I das Loftbuch
This title features 55 outstanding lofts from all over the world. Lofts are apartments that are generally built into former industrial buildings. They have their origins in the New York of the 1950s. At that time, artists and bohemians in search of cheap places to live and work began to move into abandoned late-nineteenth-century industrial buildings that once had been sweatshops, furniture companies, printmaker shops, warehouses, depositories, and factories. They seized to create a new American version of the Parisian artist's atelier. Nowadays, the tendency to convert warehouses and factories into homes has extended everywhere. Once low-cost living spaces for artists, often occupied illegally by students, they have grown into elegant, luxurious residences reserved for a wealthy elite. This book provides 55 lofts from all over the world, from huge industrial to small business spaces. It is rounded off with more than 600 illustrations, architectural plans and computer graphics.

Bratislavské dni a noci
Autor prostredníctvom takmer päťdesiatich historických postáv – návštevníkov alebo obyvateľov - predstavuje Bratislavu v pohybe času. Možno nás to prekvapí, ale medzi návštevníkmi tohto mesta boli napríklad slávny fyzik Albert Einstein, francúzsky spisovateľ Jules Verne, či najväčší milovník všetkých čias Giacomo Casanova.

Shell Seekers
Artist's daughter, Penelope Keeling can look back on a full and varied life: a Bohemian childhood in London and Cornwall, an unhappy wartime marriage, and the one man she truly loved. She has brought up three children - and learned to accept them as they are. Yet, she is far too energetic and independent to settle sweetly into pensioned-off old-age. And when she discovers that her most treasured possession, her father's painting, The Shell Seekers", is now worth a small fortune, it is Penelope who must make the decisions that will determine whether her family can continue to survive as a family, or be split apart."

Lacná kniha L´Uomo Come Fine

(Edoardo Sanguinetti)

This is a book about the cooking of France’s borderlands: from the geographical to the historical, linguistic and metaphorical. In it, Alex Jackson sets out to investigate the cooking of these borderland areas with a view to exploring the similarities between the food on either side of the borders. From the Riviera, where the border has shifted many times but the cooking remains of a delicious whole, to the Occitan valleys of the Italian Alps, the Franco-German cooking of Alsace, and Marseille, one of the most important ports of the Mediterranean, and its historic (and current) links with North Africa.
Alex explores how French cuisine has been influenced through history and that many of these dishes are part of a shared tradition of western European and Mediterranean cookery.
With over 80 mouth-watering recipes and fascinating introductions to each region, Frontieres will take you on a delicious gastronomic journey through France's varied borderlands, adding many interesting dishes to your repertoire along the way.
Me and Mr Jones
Suzi Ronson was working in a Beckenham hair salon in the early '70s when Mrs Jones came in for her weekly shampoo and set. After being introduced to her son David and his wife Angie, she finds herself at the Bowies' bohemian apartment and is soon embroiled in their raucous world.
Having crafted his iconic Ziggy Stardust hairstyle, Suzi becomes the only working woman in David's touring party and joins the Spiders from Mars as they perform around the globe. Amid the costume blunders, parties and groupies she meets her husband-to-be, Mick Ronson, and together they traverse the absurdities of life in showbusiness, falling in with the likes of Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan and Lou Reed along the way.
Dazzling and intimate in equal measure, Me and Mr Jones provides not only a unique perspective on one of the most beguiling stars of our time but also of a world on the cusp of cultural transformation, charting the highs and lows of life as one of the only women in the room as it happened.
Boho Style
Bohemian chic is considered the epitome of an unconventional and free-spirited lifestyle: a colourful, playful mix-and-match look meets reduced earth tones, not infrequently combined with unique flea market finds or exotic travel souvenirs. Far removed from any staging, Boho Style exudes real character - and thus casts a spell over interior enthusiasts all over the world. The new coffee table book Boho Style is now dedicated to the cosy statement look and is aimed at all those who want to bring their inner hippie to life.
Text in English and German.
A teljes napló 1945
Vajon Eva szélsőséges viselkedése is mély érzelmekről árulkodik?

A Nasty Little War
The astonishing untold history of the Western invasion of Soviet Russia - and the tragedy it created.
From the bestselling author of Borderland: A Journey Through the History of Ukraine
The extraordinary story of how the West tried to reverse the Russian Revolution.
In the closing months of the First World War, Britain, America, France and Japan sent arms and 180,000 soldiers to Russia, with the aim of tipping the balance in her post-revolutionary Civil War. From Central Asia to the Arctic and from Poland to the Pacific, they joined anti-Bolshevik forces in trying to overthrow the new men in the Kremlin, in an astonishingly ambitious military adventure known as the Intervention.
Fresh, in the case of the British, from the trenches, they found themselves in a mobile, multi-sided conflict as different as possible from the grim stasis of the Western Front. Criss-crossing the shattered Russian empire in trains, sleds and paddlesteamers, they bivouacked in snowbound cabins and Kirghiz yurts, torpedoed Red battleships from speedboats, improvised new currencies and the world's first air-dropped chemical weapons, got caught up in mass retreats and a typhus epidemic, organised several coups and at least one assassination. Taking tea with warlords and princesses, they also turned a blind eye to their Russian allies' numerous atrocities.
Two years later they left again, filing glumly back onto their troopships as port after port fell to the Red Army. Later, American veterans compared the humiliation to Vietnam, and the politicians and generals responsible preferred to trivialise or forget. Drawing on previously unused diaries, letters and memoirs, A Nasty Little War brings an episode with echoes down the century since vividly to life.
