What If This Is Heaven
If life is about the journey and not the destination, could it be that this is heaven - this physical life we are living here on Earth? What we experience in our daily lives often feels like anything but heaven. But what if we understood how powerful we are - that we are powerful enough to mould both our internal and our external reality?
Anita Moorjani is convinced we can do exactly that. The process, she explains, requires dismantling the many cultural myths mistaken for indisputable truths. Beliefs such as 'We get what we deserve', 'Loving ourselves is selfish' and 'Coincidences are just that - coincidences', are ingrained within us from birth, pervasive and influential, leading to generations of misguidance.
Following her near-death experience, Moorjani began to embody truths she learned in the other realm, discovering that letting go of these outmoded myths allowed her to experience heaven not as a physical place but as a state of mind, right here and right now. In this examination of our common myths, she shares stories and examples from her own life, revealing the lies beneath the surface of what she was taught and absorbed. By freeing ourselves from these falsehoods, Moorjani asserts, we can leave fear, heartache and self-imposed boundaries behind and instead
live lives full of purpose and joy.

Serédi Jusztinián - Magyarország hercegprímása
A fiatalon elhunyt történész, Csíky Balázs 1978-ban született Budapesten.

Hiroshige, Kisokaido
The Kisokaido route through Japan was ordained in the early 1600s by the country’s then-ruler Tokugawa Ieyasu, who decreed that staging posts be installed along the length of the arduous passage between Edo (present-day Tokyo) and Kyoto. Inns, shops, and restaurants were established to provide sustenance and lodging to weary travelers. In 1835, renowned woodblock print artist Keisai Eisen was commissioned to create a series of works to chart the Kisokaido journey. After producing 24 prints, Eisen was replaced by Utagawa Hiroshige, who completed the series of 70 prints in 1838.
Both Eisen and Hiroshige were renowned print practitioners. In The Sixty-Nine Stations along the Kisokaido, we find the artists’ distinct styles as much as their shared expertise. From the busy starting post of Nihonbashi to the castle town of Iwamurata, Eisen opts for a more muted palette but excels in figuration, particularly of glamorous women, and relishes snapshots of activity along the route, from shoeing a horse to winnowing rice. Hiroshige demonstrates his mastery of landscape with grandiose and evocative scenes, from the peaceful banks of the Ota River to the forbidding Wada Pass and a moonlit ascent between Yawata and Mochizuki.
Taken as a whole, The Sixty-Nine Stations collection represents not only a lively woodblock practice, including bold compositions and an experimental use of color, but also a charming tapestry of 19th-century Japan, long before the specter of industrialization. This new TASCHEN XXL edition revives the series with due scale and splendor. Sourced from the only-known set of a near-complete run of the first edition of the series, it ensures optimum quality for this legendary publication. A perfect companion piece to TASCHEN’s One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, it is at once a visual delight and a major artifact from the bygone era of Imperial Japan.

The Last Mile
Memories can be a real killer in the second Amos Decker novel from Davis Baldacci, The Last Mile. Melvin Mars awaits his fate on Death Row. He was one of America's most promising football stars until, aged twenty, he was arrested and convicted for the murder of his parents just as he was due to begin a very lucrative contract with the NFL. When Amos Decker, newly appointed special agent with the FBI, hears the news that Melvin was saved in the final seconds before his execution because someone has confessed to the killings, he persuades his boss to allow him to carry out an investigation into the Mars murders. There are facts about the case which don't add up, and as the investigation deepens, Decker and his team uncover layer upon layer of lies and deception which are rooted at a time in American history which most would rather forget, but some seem keen to remember. There is someone out there with a lot to hide, and a secret that everyone is looking for. A race against time ensues because, when revealed, that information threatens to tear apart the corridors of power at the very highest level. The case proves to be life-changing for both Mars and Decker in ways that neither could ever have imagined.

Where's the Starfish?
Barroux tackles ocean pollution in the stunning follow-up to the critically acclaimed Where's the Elephant? - recommended by The Guardian, Sunday Times and The Sun. Find the whale, the clownfish and the starfish on every page - until the piles of rubbish start to make it much too difficult. Both a Where's Wally-style spotting game and a striking work of art, this almost wordless tale puts the power back in the hands (or fins) of the natural world, with a boldly beautiful twist ending. With an insight and warmth comparable to Frann Preston-Gannon's The Journey Home, Barroux has created an astoundingly powerful modern classic that promises to be remembered for generations to come. The perfect way to introduce the topic of the environment to children. Barroux's books include Uncle John and the Giant Cherry Tree, which won him the 2005 Enfantaisie Award, and the extraordinary Line of Fire, Diary of An Unknown Soldier which has received widespread critical acclaim. In 2015 Barroux won the first Parents, Babies, a Book competition for his work Chuut! which will be given to every newborn baby in the north of France. His book Where's the Elephant? has been longlisted for the Kate Greenway Medal 2016.

The Best Minds of My Generation
A unique history of the Beats, in the words of the movement's most central member, Allen Ginsberg, based on a seminal series of his lectures In 1977, twenty years after the publication of his landmark poem 'Howl' and Jack Kerouac's On the Road, Allen Ginsberg decided it was time to teach a course on the literary history of the Beat Generation. Through this course, Ginsberg saw an opportunity to present a complete history of Beat Literature and also to record and preserve his own personal stories and memories, ones that might have otherwise been lost to history. The result was a deeply intimate, candid and illuminating set of lectures, which form the basis of this book. Compiled and edited by renowned Beat scholar Bill Morgan, and with an introduction by Anne Waldman, The Best Minds of My Generation presents the lectures in edited form, revealing the Beats as Ginsberg knew them: friends, confidantes, literary mentors, and fellow revolutionaries. In The Best Minds of My Generation, Ginsberg gives us the convoluted origin story of the "Beat" idea, recounts anecdotes of meeting Kerouac, Burroughs, and other figures for the first time, elucidates the importance of music, and particularly jazz rhythms, to Beat writing, discusses their many influences - literary, pharmaceutical and spiritual - and paints a portrait of a group who were leading a literary revolution. A unique document that works both as historical record and unconventional memoir, The Best Minds of My Generation is a vivid, personal and eye-opening look at one of the most important literary movements of the twentieth century.

Lara - The Untold Love Story That Inspired Doctor Zhivago
The heartbreaking story of the love affair between Boris Pasternak and Olga Ivinskaya - the true tragedy behind 'Dr Zhivago'. 'Doctor Zhivago' has sold in its millions yet the true love story that inspired it has never been fully explored. Pasternak would often say 'Lara exists, go and meet her', directing his visitors to the love of his life and literary muse, Olga Ivinskaya. They met in 1946 at the literary journal where she worked. Their relationship would last for the remainder of their lives. Olga paid an enormous price for loving 'her Boria'. She became a pawn in a highly political game and was imprisoned twice in Siberian labour camps because of her association with him and his controversial work. Her story is one of unimaginable courage, loyalty, suffering, tragedy, drama and loss. Drawing on both archival and family sources, Anna Pasternak's book reveals for the first time the critical role played by Olga in Boris's life and argues that without Olga it is likely that Doctor Zhivago would never have been completed or published. Anna Pasternak is a writer and member of the famous Pasternak family. She is the great-granddaughter of Leonid Pasternak, the impressionist painter and Nobel Prize winning novelist Boris Pasternak was her great-uncle. She is the author of three previous books.

At the Edge - Riding for My Life
At the Edge : Riding for My Life
I checked my balance and peered apprehensively at the sheer drop below. Once I felt comfortable, I radioed down to Stu. 'I'm just gonna unclip quickly,' I said. My walkie-talkie crackled straight away. Stu sounded pretty stressed. 'Dude, keep the rope on!' I edged forward, my hands and feet scoping out the summit for any loose rock. The ridge pinnacle was still only a meter wide, if that, but I felt pretty stable. 'This bit's fine,' I said. 'The rope makes it harder for me...' Danny MacAskill lives on the edge. The cyclist is legendary for his YouTube viral videos like The Ridge, Cascadia and Imaginate: nerve-racking montages of stunts which scale everything from mountain peaks, rooftops, ghost towns and movie sets. His life is one of thrills, bloody spills and millions of online hits. It hasn't been an easy ride. Doubt, stress and the 'what if?' factor circle every trailblazing trick, which require imagination, fearlessness, groundbreaking techniques and an eye for a good camera angle. He has spent his life pushing the extremes; somehow, he's still around to tell the tale. In this unflinching memoir of mayhem, Danny shares his anarchic childhood on the Isle of Skye and early days as a street trials rider, takes us behind the scenes of his training and videos, shares never-seen-before sketches from his personal notebook, and reveals what it takes to go the next level - both mentally and physically. Join Danny for a nerve-shredding ride. Just be sure to bring a crash helmet.
Dian Hansonas Pussy Book
Here, Kitty, Kitty! Dive into the origin of us all The Big Book of Pussy, not to be confused with a book of big pussies, closed out the popular "body part" series with an offering just as controversial as it was popular back in 2011. As in previous volumes, editor Dian Hanson explored the historical significance of her subject, explaining how the female genitalia have been coveted, feared, reviled, and worshipped by civilizations worldwide, from New Guinea to old Ireland. Her text was supported by playfully positive photographs of women exposing their vulvas, from 1900 to 2010. And with more than 400 photos, the point was made emphatically, in images both naturally furry and stylishly groomed.
Now, this fresh edition reframes not just the subject, but the format and design of this popular volume in the portable and affordable Bibliotheca Universalis size, to meet the needs of consumers like the gentleman who commented on Amazon, "Who wants a two-ton Pussy Book being 'exposed' for the mailman?" Relax, my finicky friend! Your pussy now arrives in a discreet 14 x 19.5 cm (5.5 x 7.7 in.) size!
Included are interviews with the auteur known as Pussyman, the ex-cop who turned masturbation into millions with a toy called the Fleshlight, clit queen Vanessa del Rio, squirter Flower Tucci, and vaginal performance artist Mouse. Contemporary photographers Richard Kern, Ralph Gibson, Jan Saudek, Guido Argentini, Ed Fox, and others share their favorite pussy photos, urging even the shyest reader to call, "Here, kitty, kitty!" "Discover 111 years of images of women as nude as the news, and just as pleasantly delivered... an exceptionally well-written and insightful book, and a time capsule of how we perceive this aspect of the female body."
