Generál Jozef Marko dokončil rukopis spomienok v novembri 1970. Žiaľ, dlhé roky sa nenašiel vydavateľ, ktorý by bol ochotný sprístupniť jeho prácu verejnosti. Situácia sa opakovala až do septembra 2015, keď sa riaditeľka vydavateľstva Mayer media Lenka Eremiášová rozhodla cez Romana Stopku, ktorý sa podieľal na prvopočiatočnom financovaní zozbierania podkladov na vydanie knihy osloviť priamo editorov rukopisu plk. v. v. Jána Dibalu a gen. v. v. Ing. Emila Vestenického. Spolupráca sa osvedčila a jej výsledkom je kompletné knižné vydanie rukopisu generála Marka.
Okrem Markovho textu je v knihe nemeckým historikom Wolfgangom Wenohrom hodnotenie priebehu SNP, povstaleckého vojaka a dôstojníka. Konfrontáciu Markovho popisu udalostí rozsiahlymi pripomienkami hodnotí vtedajší minister obrany SR generál Ferdinand Čatloš. V prílohe uvádza text Mníchovskej dohody, Čatlošov plán na Povstanie, Nariadenie o podriadení slovenských jednotiek nemeckým vojenským veliteľstvám, zánik Hlinkovej gardy a iné dokumenty. V závere sú portréty vojenských osobností a organizačné štruktúry partizánskych a iných vojenských jednotiek v roku 1944.
Marko bol priamy organizátor príprav a jeden z vrcholových riadiacich i zabezpečujúcich pracovníkov SNP. Čitateľ sa dozvie o politických aj vojenských zmenách a rozhodnutiach, o vyhlásení SNP a povstaleckých bojoch v rôznych regiónoch. Tiež o osobných perzekúciách od roku 1948. "Bol som odsúdený najskôr na päť rokov ťažkého žalára, potom na 14 rokov. Vo väzniciach som si odpykal dohromady sedem rokov," končí svoje spomienky Jozef Marko.

U příležitosti letošního 150. výročí narození rodáka z Loštic JUDr. Richarda Fischera připravila Vědecká knihovna v Olomouci publikaci věnovanou pozapomenuté osobnosti, která v letech 1923–1939 stála v čele olomoucké radnice a jejíž aktivity dalece přesahovaly hranice regionu. V případě publikace Život je mnoho se jedná o vůbec první zpracování přehledové biografie Richarda Fischera.
Aktivní profesní život Richarda Fischera se odehrával na pozadí přelomových událostí rakousko-uherské monarchie, první i druhé republiky a částečně také období okupace. Více než padesát let zasvětil prosazování českých národních snah, spravedlivému fungování komunální politiky a podpoře a obhajobě potřeb a požadavků českého národa. Jeho celoživotní postoje moderního demokraticky smýšlejícího politika, literárně činného a společensky angažujícího se člověka charakterizuje zejména odhodlanost boje za českou Olomouc. Vedle politických a národně buditelských aktivit současně nepolevil ani ve své advokátské praxi.
Fischer ve funkci olomouckého starosty setrval až do osudného 15. března roku 1939, kdy pronáší svůj poslední odvážný projev a předává správu města do rukou německých okupantů.
Válečné období prožil v rodných Lošticích, kde i nadále poskytoval právnické rady místním i přespolním, kteří se na něj s důvěrou obraceli. Po válce se sice v září roku 1946 vrací do milované Olomouce, ale veřejného života se již neúčastní. Duši prvorepublikového demokrata zdrtil nástup komunistického režimu. Osobnost Fischerova formátu ztělesňující ideály dob minulých přicházející nová éra nemohla potřebovat.

Nebezpečný kardinál
V pátek 19. dubna 2018 se uskutečnila ve Vatikánské bazilice translace ostatků arcibiskupa pražského a primase českého Josefa kardinála Berana (29. 12. 1888 17. 5. 1969). V následujících dnech se naplnila jeho poslední vůle a rakev s ostatky byla uložena do sarkofágu v katedrále sv. Víta, Václava a Vojtěcha v Praze. Spolu s návratem tohoto velkého exulanta chceme připomenout nejen jeho životní příběh, ale také osobní kvality a postoje, jež zastával jako reprezentant domácího katolického duchovenstva a které ho dostaly do konfliktu s nacistickým i komunistickým režimem. Z těchto střetů vyšel jako morální autorita s přesahem za hranice své církve i vlasti.
