Sofie Podlipská je dnes pro mnohé zapomenutou osobností, byť se jí v poslední době opětovně dostává pozornosti zejména v oblasti kulturní historie. Důvodem zájmu historiků je její významný vliv na utváření kulturního prostoru druhé poloviny 19. století: její osobní nasazení ve spolkové a osvětové činnosti i nepřehlédnutelná aktivita v ženském emancipačním hnutí. Pozornost je zde soustředěna například na její práci s nacionálními stereotypy, podoby a proměny uplatňování didaktické funkce v její beletrii či na vliv George Sandové na její myšlení i konkrétní tvorbu. Spisovatelka je zde představena též skrze dokumenty osobního charakteru jako osobnost širokého literárního i obecně kulturního rozhledu. Veškeré analýzy jsou hojně dokumentovány pramenným materiálem.
