Pít dobré víno je radost – i trochu věda. Je to však věda radostná, která navíc potěšení z ušlechtilého nápoje, který je s lidstvem celá tisíciletí, významně umocňuje. Kniha Rozpravy o víně je toho vynikajícím důkazem. Zdenek Červenka - nejen spisovatel, ale světoznámý vědec (působil například na univertách v Upsalle, Berkeley a Bostonu) - je sice v oboru vinařství hlavně nadšeným amatérem, erudici skutečného znalce vína už ovšem prokázal ve svých předešlých uspěšných knihách o Jižní Francii, kde se usídlil. A szőlőművelés és borászat kézikönyve 192 ábrával
A szőlőtő egyike a legrégibb műveleti növényeknek. – A legrégibb könyvben, a bibliában, már Noéról mondatik, miszerint a vízözön után az Ararat hegyén „ismét földműveléssel foglalkozott és szőlőt ültetett”.
Így hát a szőlőtermelés és borkészítés bibliai korú foglalkozás. A mai ember is előszeretettel ültet szőlőt és élvezi annak nedűjét, a bort. Napjainkban egyre inkább és újra teret nyer a különböző Borrendek és borászok által szervezett bemutatók és borkóstolók „ünnepe”.
De ehhez természetesen meg kell ismerni a különböző szőlő- és borfajtákat is, illetve ezek művelését. Jelen könyv még 1897-ben jelent meg, de már akkor igyekezett minden kérdésre megválaszolni, így még ma is kiváló tankönyve a szőlő- és bor kultúrájának.
Bratislavské víno
Básnik nazval Bratislavu mestom na sútoku vína a Dunaja, no nie je to len bonmot. Veď už viac ako dve tisícročia sa v našom regióne pestuje hrozno a výsledkom pracovitých rúk, ľudského umu a slnka je lahodné víno. Prví klčovali svahy Malých Karpát Kelti, po stáročiach rímsky cisár Marcus Aurelius Probus nariadil svojim legionárom vysadiť na okolitých pahorkoch vinič. O obľúbenosti vína svedčí aj fakt, že sa nám zachovali modlitby za víno ešte z čias Cyrila a Metoda. V stredoveku panovníci výnosmi ochraňovali bratislavských vinohradníkov a vtedajšia produkcia 2500 litrov vína na obyvateľa svedčí o jeho význame ako obchodnej komodity. Až na štyridstiatich piatich uliciach vládla nevídaná podviechová demokracia; Bratislavčania prví ochutnali šampanské mimo územia Francúzska a to od Palugyaia mali aj vo vinotéke na Titanicu.
Vladimír Tomčík (1950, Bratislava). Vyštudoval dejiny umenia na Filozofickej fakulte UK v Bratislave. Pracoval 16 rokov v redakcii Výtvarný život, vo vydavateľstve Mladé letá. Pripravil množstvo výstav u nás i v zahraničí, Je autorom viac ako tisícky odborných a popularizačných článkov, scenárov a autorských relácií v rozhlase a televízii. Popri výtvarnom umení sa venuje histórii Bratislavy a dejinám gastronómie. Vydal 13 kníh o umení, Bratislave a gastronómii. Je autorom výtvarnej podoby rekonštrukcie Hviezdoslavovho námestia.
