Středověký šperk
Předkládáná monografie představuje první komplexní zpracování středověkých šperků uložených v depozitářích muzeí, galerií a archeologických institucí na jižní Moravě. Autorka do kolekce zahrnula předměty ze 79 lokalit, a to 45 z intravilánu měst, 11 z výzkumu hradů a 23 z výzkumu současných i zaniklých vsí a polokulturních lokalit. Výběr se omezil na období vrcholného středověku, tj. 13. až 15. století, s možnými časovými přesahy do staršího i mladšího období. Hlavní část práce tvoří katalog předmětů, které jsou kresebně nebo fotograficky dokumentovány a detailně popsány.
Katalog je v plném znění publikovaný elektronicky v Digitální knihovně FF MU. V analytické části práce jsou šperky zhodnoceny z hlediska typologie a morfologie, včetně komparace s nálezy z jiných lokalit a jsou zasazeny do dobového kontextu ve smyslu funkčním, estetickém i symbolickém.

Práce Jana Županiče a Michala Fialy je první komplexní studií zabývající se otázkou židovské šlechty ve střední Evropě: tedy osob židovské víry, které od konce 18. do počátku 20. století získali buď v habsburské monarchii, nebo v některé středoevropské zemi šlechtický titul. Kniha je rozdělena do dvou spolu úzce souvisejících části. První (autora Jana Županiče) zachycuje společné i odlišné rysy šlechtických obcí v jednotlivých středoevropských státech, jejich šlechtickou politiku, možnosti sociálního vzestupu židů i postoj místních elit vůči nim. Část druhá (autora Michala Fialy) obsahuje přepisy 280 nobilitačních a erbovních listin vydaných pro židovské šlechtice v západní části habsburské monarchie (v česko-rakouských dědičných zemích a pozdějším Předlitavsku) doplněné kresbami udělených erbů.

Ostrožná poloha Mogyorós, v katastrálnom území obce Stránska, sa stala v rokoch 1985 1988 prvou a doposiaľ aj jedinou systematicky skúmanou lokalitou badenskej kultúry na území Gemera. Vedením terénnych prác boli poverení G. Nevizánsky z Archeologického ústavu SAV v Nitre a Š. B. Kovács, bývalý pracovník Gemerského múzea v Rimavskej Sobote. Poslednú, štvrtú výskumnú sezónu viedol G. Nevizánsky samostatne. Publikácia je zameraná na kompletné vyhodnotenie dokumentácie a archeologických nálezov pochádzajúcich zo sídliska. Archeologický materiál zo Stránskej, z polohy Mogyorós, tvorí súčasť zbierkového fondu Gemerského múzea v Rimavskej Sobote. Výnimkou je len archeozoologický materiál, ktorý je deponovaný v Archeologickom ústave SAV v Nitre.

Kniha detailne analyzuje jeden z najvýznamnejších nálezov 15. storočia objavených na území Slovenska. Bližšie sa venuje menovým pomerom v rokoch 1390 - 1442 a pojednáva o minciach, ktorými sa platilo na našom území v tomto období. Okrem toho sa venuje aj kariére niektorých významných finančníkov tej doby (napr. Noffry a pod.), falšovaniu mincí v Uhorsku a inflačným vlnám, ktoré zasiahli krajinu v tomto období. Poklad obsahoval aj relikviárny kríž, ktorý je prvýkrát datovaný mincami pred rokom 1442. Nález zároveň obsahoval aj gombíky, ktoré pochádzali z mužského kabátca. V knihe sa autor pokúsil zodpovedať aj na otázky ako kto mohol byť majiteľom pokladu, akú mal hodnotu
a čo sa dalo za neho kúpiť v čase jeho ukrytia. Nález je dôležitým svedectvom o vojnových udalostiach z roku 1442 a zároveň jediným prameňom o obci Mojmírovce v tejto dobe. V knihe sa nachádza bohatá obrázková príloha, v ktorej sú fotograficky zdokumentované všetky predmety z pokladu.

Heraldika na mincích a medailích
Publikace známého českého medailéra a sochaře se věnuje tématu zachycení erbů na mincích a medailích, které bylo zatím v odborné literatuře opomíjeno. Autor jednak seznamuje čtenáře s heraldickými pravidly a reáliemi, zejména se ale zaměřuje na chronologicky seřazené vybrané příklady mincí a medailí se znaky s informacemi o osobnostech a institucích, které erby na ražbách užívaly. Zároveň sleduje výtvarné zpracování mincí a medailí v souvislosti s uměleckými slohy, podle nichž je práce členěna. Jednotlivé slohové kapitoly jsou dále děleny na části věnované znakům panovnickým, šlechtickým, církevním a městským. Součástí práce je rovněž bohatý obrazový doprovod a slovníček odborných pojmů.
Archeologie a dálkový průzkum
Publikace přináší u nás dosud nejkomplexněji pojatý pokus o syntézu širokého spektra témat v oblasti dálkového archeologického průzkumu lidských sídel a krajiny v minulosti. Studie vychází z projektu „Hospodářské zázemí centra nebo jen osady v blízkosti zázemí centra?“ Grantové agentury ČR, který byl zaměřen na poznání nejbližšího okolí a zázemí velkomoravského opevněného centra na Pohansku u Břeclavi. Pomocí povrchové prospekce, mikrosondáží i archeologického výzkumu byla zkoumána a analyzována sídelní struktura v okolí lidnatého centra a její vývoj od starohradištního do mladohradištního období (od 8. do 12. století). Kromě hledání sídelní struktury byla sledována i problematika odhadu počtu obyvatel raně středověkého centra i jeho subsistenční strategie. Původní představy o síti zemědělských osad zásobujících obyvatele velkomoravského Pohanska byly kriticky revidovány. Byl představen nový model, který vychází z absence časově shodného osídlení, pokud jsme vůbec schopni takové v archeologickém materiálu identifikovat, kritické revize konstrukčních prvků tradičního modelu a nových, či doposud přehlížených dokladů aktivní účasti obyvatel centra na zemědělské činnosti.
