Az Isten szava minden napra 2021 - a korábbi kiadásokhoz hasonlóan - a latin egyház naptára szerinti mindennapi szentmisékhez kapcsolódik. Vasárnapokra és ünnepnapokra ezért - a liturgikus év háromévente ismétlődő beosztása szerint - a B év olvasmányait kommentáljuk, Márk evangéliumát olvassuk majd vasárnaponként az év során. Hétköznapokra a napi szentmise evangéliumához olvashatunk magyarázatot.
Az Isten szava minden napra 2021 egy világjárványtól sújtott világban tagolja az idő folyását egy éven át. 2020. március 27-én este, egy rémült világ közepén Ferenc pápa az üres, eső verte Szent Péter téren ott állt egyedül, Isten előtt, mint egy nagy közbenjáró, aki azt kéri az Úrtól, szabadítsa meg a világot a járványtól. A kényszerű elszigetelődés és szétszóródás idején Isten szava egybegyűjtötte és vigasztalta Jézus tanítványait, akik tudatában voltak annak, amiről biztosította őket: "amit a nevemben kértek, azt megteszem nektek". (Jn 14,13) Az Isten szava minden napra 2021 című kötet segítséget szeretne adni ahhoz, hogy folyamatosan hallgassuk az Urat, és emeljük imára a kezünket, hogy továbbra is védelmezze a világot a gonosz ellen. Az imádságra mindig szükség van. Ebben az időben pedig, mondhatni, nélkülözhetetlen, mindenki számára.
