Nakoniec sme sa aj na Slovensku dočkali! Dobrých deväťsto rokov od vzniku najstaršieho slovanského letopisu, známeho ako Povesť vremenných let, vychádza toto nádherné a poučné dielo aj v slovenskom preklade. Nestorov letopis zhromaždil vo veľkom množstve a objeme materiál rozprávaní, povestí, legiend, ústne poetické tradície a rozličné historické osoby a udalosti, vrátane tých, ktorých svedkom bol samotný autor, respektíve, ktoré sa odohrali v jeho dobe. Navyše, tradície v ňom zachytené nie sú len „slovanské“. Ich rozmer je naozaj „globálny“ i univerzálny. Je to tradícia človečenstva, tragicky rozdeleného a hľadajúceho k sebe cestu.
