České politické strany v poúnorovém exilu
Po únoru 1948 odešly z republiky do exilu tisíce lidí, včetně bývalých politiků, kteří se pokoušeli v zahraničí obnovit struktury politických stran, doma buď zakázaných, či přeměněných v neškodné satelity Komunistické strany Československa. Šestice českých exilových stran (národní socialisté, sociální demokraté, agrárníci, lidovci, národní demokraté, živnostníci) fungovala ve velmi provizorních podmínkách, přesto dokázala na přelomu 40. a 50. let výrazně promlouvat do exilového dění v Evropě i Severní Americe. Kniha nastiňuje historii těchto specifických hráčů na šachovnici studené války a využívá při tom pramenů objevených teprve nedávno v zahraničních archivech.

Amikor Kim Dzsongun apja 2011-es halálakor Észak-Korea vezetőjévé vált, nem jósoltak neki fényes jövőt. Elszigetelt és elszegényedett országa éhínségtől szenvedett, hatalmát és nemzetközi pozícióját mégis nukleáris programja révén igyekezett megszilárdítani. A különös megjelenésű fiatalember, a "trónörökös" bukása súlyos következményekkel járt volna nemcsak a térségre nézve - amennyiben menekültek áradata indul meg a széteső diktatúrából a szabadságba -, de ha az atom irányítása kikerül a minden szálat egymaga mozgató, teljhatalmú uralkodó kezéből, annak folyományaképp az egész világhoz több lépéssel közelebb került volna az atomháború réme.
Nem így történt; a diktatúra harmadik örököse, Kim Ir Szen unokája, Kim Dzsongil fia tartani látszik a gyeplőt. Ugyanakkor kora legkifürkészhetetlenebb vezetői közé tartozik. Hazájában, ahogy elődei esetében is, egyfajta személyes mitológiát vontak alakja köré, a propagandatevékenysége nyomán róla megjelenő képen - amint éppen "dolgokat néz" - mosolyognak az internetezők, de eközben a nemzetközi politika szereplői korántsem alaptalan aggodalommal találgatják, mi lesz "húzd meg-ereszd meg" diplomáciai stratégiája következő lépése.
A szerző, aki fontos szerepet játszott az Egyesült Államok Észak-Korea-politikájának alakításában, érdekfeszítő betekintést nyújt a fiatal diktátor gondolkodásmódjába - atomhatalmi ambícióinak és a Donald Trumppal folytatott tárgyalásainak hátteréig.

Jim se věnuje i nový titul, ale tentokrát z pohledu dvou odlišných vrstev – elity a lidu. Autor uvádí titul slovy: „Elitu chápu jako skupinu lidí, která díky svému mocenskému postavení určuje běh života lidu. Za to požívá jistou úctu a obživu. Lid, to jsou ti ostatní, jejichž běh života je určován vládci. Dostává se mu poznání z úst učenců a těší ho tvorba talentovaných umělců. Pokud však elity vnucují lidu postoje, poznání a zábavu, s níž bytostně nesouhlasí, nerozumí jí a nemíní ji přijmout za svou, reptá. V takových dobách pak vycházejí knihy podobné této.“

A második világháborúban Magyarország - az első világháborúhoz hasonlóan - újból a rossz, a vesztes oldalon állt. A büntetés nem is maradt el. a győztesek - bár sokan úgy gondolták, hogy egy igazságos világrendet hoznak létre - nagy csalódást okoztak. Saját érdekeik alapján bosszút álltak. Az igazságos világrend helyett a veszteseket megbüntették, a gyengéket megalázták.

A jogállam elkezdhet zsarnoki, szélsőséges esetben totális jegyeket hordozni. Nagy dilemma, hogy vajon ez csak elméleti lehetőség-e, avagy napjaink valósága.
