Toulky nejen železniční minulostí
V roce 2015 zemřel přední český malíř a grafik Jiří Bouda. Velká část jeho bohatého životního díla se týkala železnice a v jeho obrazech a grafikách se skrývá skutečná poetika s dokonalým citem pro detail. Tato publikace je poctou Boudově tvorbě, jež nezaměnitelným stylem vypráví příběh železnice v českých zemích. Působivé ilustrace doplňují texty z pera zkušeného autora Josefa Schröttera. Aviatika v českých zemích 1908-1914
Práce některých průkopníků letectví na konci 19. století dávaly tušit, že se přiblížila doba, kdy se člověk naučí létat. Po neúspěchu evropských průkopníků letectví s motorovými letadly s pevným křídlem v létech asi 1890 až 1900 se těžiště úsilí přesunulo do USA. Tam se v prosinci 1903 bratřím Wrightům zdařily první pokusné lety. Nebyli však jediní, kdo se v té době zabýval řešením letadla. Také do českých zemí docházely občasné zprávy o pokusech Gustava Weiskopfa-Whiteheada a profesora Langleye. Zpráv o bratrech Wrightech bylo zpočátku málo a nebudily velkou důvěru. Pak v roce 1908 přišel Wilbur do Francie a překvapené Evropě předvedl, co s bratrem dokázali. Ukázalo se, že evropští průkopníci letectví zaostávají, avšak záhy dokázali náskok Wrightů dohonit. Zrodila se "aviatická horečka", která zasáhla také české země.
Na konci 19. století a v prvních létech století 20. se v českých zemích vynořilo pár zájemců, kteří se pokoušeli vyřešit letadlo těžší než vzduch. Někteří pracovali teoreticky, jiní stavěli modely, málokdo dospěl ke stavbě letadla, zpravidla neúspěšného. Objevují se tu jména Gustav Finger, Jan Hirsch, Vilém Urbánek, Tomáš Málek... V roce 1908 se organizátoři Jubilejní výstavy pražské obchodní a živnostenské komory pokusili získat z Francie některé z prvních letadel. Neuspěli. Po úvodních kapitolách kniha popisuje dění v českých zemích od experimentů Igo Etricha v Trutnově v létech 1907 a 1908 až po poslední lety domácích průkopníků letectví v Plzni na začátku července 1914, již v prvních dnech světové války.
Zachycuje činnost domácích letců Jana Kašpara, Eugena Čiháka, Františka Šimůnka, Metoda Vlacha, Karla Tučka, Maxe Bartela, Vincence Barthella, Karla Illnera, Boženy Laglerové, Jana Čermáka, také působení cizích letců Louise-Jeana Gauberta, Roberta Schweizera, Otto Hieronima, Henri Jullerota, Fridolina Keidela, Adolfa Warchalowského, Oswalda Kahnta, Julesa Védrinesa, akrobata Adolpha Pégouda. Neopomíjí letecké spolky ani méně známé domácí průkopníky letectví, stejně jako výstavy letadel, zvláště na pražských autosalonech počínaje rokem 1909. Bohatá byla rovněž přednášková činnost a promítání leteckých filmů v kinech. Kniha podává celkový obraz leteckého dění v českých zemích až do vypuknutí první světové války.

Lékař a neurovědec František Koukolík ve své knize NEZAPOMENU! rozvíjí myšlenku, že umělá inteligence může být daleko víc než jen pouhý nástroj v rukou lidstva. Její vývoj běží mílovými kroky – zatímco evoluce života na Zemi trvala miliardy let, umělá inteligence se vyvíjí před našima očima během několika měsíců. Co to znamená pro naši budoucnost?

Přijměte prosím pozvání na procházku zajímavou disciplínou, která zcela jistě řadila našeho vlajkového dopravce mezi přední letecké společnosti světa. Děj se z velké části odehrává v komplikované době komunistické totality. Mohli jsme létat do zahraničí, ale na druhou stranu se setkávali s mnoha nespravedlivými - a z dnešního pohledu už vůbec nepřijatelnými metodami StB a komunistických stranických orgánů. Je v lidské povaze zapomínat na nepříjemnosti a naopak vzpomenout na příjemné, romantické, veselé a pozitivní příhody - a právě o to jsme se s Mirkem chtěli pokusit.
Počátek vyprávění zachycuje především Mirkovy zkušenosti, avšak pohříchu jsou málo fotograficky dokumentovány. Létání na dvaašedesátkách už je společné, protože i já jsem na nich prožil krásných třináct roků, počínaje devětasedmdesátým. S následným obdobím Airbusu mi pomohl Ing. Ota Kolín, protože na n?m létal od počátku v roce 1991 až do roku 2008. Díky několika přátel?m a kamarádům jsou zážitky oživeny fotografiemi, připomínajícími mnoho bezvadných lidí.
Rozhodně je dobré už v úvodu podotknout, že podstatná většina pracovníků ČSA byla hrdá na příslušnost ke svému zaměstnavateli a velmi úspěšně jej reprezentovala v Československu i na zahraničních destinacích. Byli jsme hrdí na to, že létáme pod značkou OK a s československou vlajkou na kýlových plochách našich letadel.

Již po mnoho let jsou vydávány statistiky o leteckém provozu nad Severním Atlantikem. Obsahují stížnosti provozovatelů na přesycení provozu a uvádějí také seznam společností, které jsou podílníkem uvedeného nahuštění v severoatlantickém prostoru. Od 3. února 1962 až do 23. října 2009 v tomto seznamu byly pravidelně i ČSA.
Jedním ze zakladatelů dálkových linek Československých aerolinií byl elegantní, velmi inteligentní a sečtělý muž s vybraným vystupováním, obdivovaný ženami a oblíbený v komunitě posádek, výborný profesionál, navigátor Miroslav Kubrycht (nar. 2.12.1932).
Byli jsme přátelé. Mirek miloval dálkovky a měl štěstí, že po skončení funkce navigátora na IL62 se mohl podílet na výcviku posádek A310 nad Atlantikem. Krátce před jeho definitivním odchodem do aviatického nebe jsme byli často spolu. Mirek mi poskytl spoustu informací o historii dálkového létání Československých aerolinií s přáním, abych si to nenechal pro sebe.
