Umění mezi alegorií a ideologií
Kniha Umění mezi alegorií a ideologií je souborem tří studií, které analyzují proměnu reprezentace historie v českém filmu a televizi v závislosti na změně politicko-ideologického uspořádání české společnosti, a to na třech vybraných tématech. První v chronologickém průřezu sleduje proměny prezentace Sudet v českém filmu od 30. let až do současnosti, která je výrazně poznamenána ideologizací, zejména ve vztahu k německému etniku. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na filmy o normalizaci natočené po roce 2000. Tyto snímky většinou jejich tvůrci využívají k vyrovnání se s minulým režimem, v nichž se i přes autorskou svobodu projevuje ideově jednotný antikomunistický postoj formovaný soudobým příklonem k liberálním hodnotám. Třetí část se věnuje třem nedávno vzniklým historickým seriálům (České století, Svět pod hlavou, Bohéma) jako příkladům nového přístupu k historickému narativu. Píše se rok 2019. Je to neuvěřitelné, ale tahle krásná Popelka letos slaví své padesátiny. Asi nikdo z těch, kteří se účastnili jejího natáčení, tehdy netušil, že se tahle černobílá televizní pohádka stane legendou. Vznikala v době, která pro naši zemi nebyla zrovna příjemná - normalizace pomalu přebírala žezlo, a možná právě proto bylo tak potřebné ukázat, že dobro prostě vždycky musí zvítězit nad zlem. Přestože téma Popelky bylo od té doby zpracováno mnohokrát, zůstává Popelka Evy Hruškové klenotem české kinematografie. Když si prohlédneme závěrečné titulky za filmem, zjistíme, že většina z těch, kteří se na jeho vzniku tehdy podíleli, už dnes není mezi námi. O to více jsme vděčni těm, kteří na natáčení vzpomínají s láskou a po padesáti letech od natáčení se s námi podělili o své vzpomínky, a o sobě i o filmu možná prozradí něco, co dosud bylo tajemstvím

Magické slovo Barrandov! Hvězdy stříbrného plátna! Koho by neoslnily? Byli to však opravdoví bohémové, jak by napovídal i název televizního seriálu Bohéma, mapujícího barrandovské ateliéry od nástupu fašismu po 50. a 60. léta? U mnohých s tím lze polemizovat.
