A hivatalos állami intézmények átalakulása mellett egy új rendezőgeneráció színre lépése nyitotta meg a hazai filmtörténet következő fejezetét. A kreativitásával és tettre készségével magának helyet követelő fiatal nemzedék tagjai között első pillantásra is feltűnően sok női rendező indult el a pályán ebben az időszakban.

Pokúšali sme sa zachytiť najvýraznejšie témy nášho myslenia o filme, fenomény a črty filmovej práce, naratívne a vizuálne motívy. Hlavným zámerom abecedára bolo odpútať sa od tradičných postupov chronologizácie, hierarchizácie či kanonizácie. Náš malý filmový archív ešte stále skrýva množstvo neprebádaného filmového bohatstva. Tim Burton (born 1958) grew up in Burbank, California, and studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts. Most recently, he directed and produced the TV series Wednesday (2022), which became the second-most-watched show on Netflix. He lives and works in London.

Audio-vize: pojem, který v prvním vydání tohoto díla v roce 1990 byl ještě novotvarem, ale různými citacemi, parafrázemi a překlady se propsal do obecného povědomí. Měl značit, že se jedná o svébytný vjem, a v důsledku tedy že studovat filmový zvuk či obraz odděleně, samy o sobě, postrádá smysl.
A přece i dnes kdekdo stále odmávne kinematografii jako vizuální umění.
